I really enjoyed the first and was wondering if anyone had picked it up, and you think it compares to the first. I'm not paying 49 for it, but am looking to pick it up for around 37 at Fry's. Just wondering what you thought about the game.

I've heard that this one is darker (obviously) with less enemies (at once, anyways), but still extremely fun. I can't wait to get it.

Personally I think it's horrible compared to the first, and that's only because the controls aren't nowhere near as responsive and "crisp" as they were in the first one.

I didn't finish it only for the reason that I hated it so much I simply couldn't keep playing, I would suggest renting it.

Yes - Warrior Within is an excelent sequel and improves on a large number of things that The Sands of Time done. The darker look and feel works well, and the excelent heavy-metal music further improves this appearance. Warrior Within is a solid game and is well worth a look if you enjoyed The Sands of Time.

I agree with Slimpip. I absolutely loved the Sands of Time, but the unresponsive controls in both combat and general jumping and movement really hurt my opinion of Warrior Within. In my opinion the new darker direction seems a bit pushed and doesnt really fit well with the feel of the first game. From other opinions I think you'll either love it or hate, probably a rental first.

It isn't quite as good as the first, but it is still a fantastic game.

There is some backtracking.
The music is good, but very repetitive.
The Prince's character isn't as good.

So this one is more combat heavy? damn, I hated the combat in Sands of Time, it felf so forced and got stale very quickly. "Hmm, just finished a big room puzzle, looks like i'll probably be running into another pack of enemies again" "yep, there they are."

That's how every game is.

ICO and PoP are two titles that would have greatly benefitted from extreme reduction or removal of combat scenarios and improvement on what made them good games.

The battle system on Warrior Within has been greatly enhanced, providing a large range of new moves to perform. Although it also gets rather boring, it retains more interest than what The Sands of Time did.
