Well, I really want the safari features...and I only have 13GB of music.

Yeah but its 400 dollars for 16 gb. I can get 160 gb for 50 dollars less. I dont know if its worth it.

As an iPhone owner I can tell you the safari stuff is just ok. It works well but I found myself not using it much after the first week or so. It's good for light browsing and reading the news etc but not much else IMO others will probably tell you otherwise. On the other hand if you plan to watch video the Touch is worth it.

Yeah, I guess I actually could go for a PDA right now. It combines what I already have between a nano and video but also ads internet and other features.

Having more space is overrated because you're still always going to have a problem with getting everything you want on it and even then you won't be able to listen/watch it all. I have a 5G video already anyway.

I really can't understand the argument people make when they say you don't really need the extra space. If anything, your collection is gonna grow. Makes no sense to accept smaller capacity when you can get larger storage space for the same price. And the convenience of having everything in one spot is something people overlook. It's a pain in the ass constantly having to manage your files due to size constraints.

Yeah but 16 gb doesent even come close to holding all my music.

Contrary to what Apple try's to brainwash you with the iPod touch is a PDA and I will treat it like that. Not an iPod.

As for extra space... for instance. I have I don't know how much video content/movies but it's enough that even my ext. hds are filling up (over 120gb easy). Whether it's an 120 gb or 30 gb it's not going to make a difference because it will be filled up.

As for music same situation and I don't listen to it that intensely. My 2gb nano has been working just fine and I don't even have that filled up.

I couldnt agree more.

I have a little more than 80GB of music, at 192kbps since it's only for portable use, not home theater.

This is counting only my commercial CD collection. No downloads, and only pop rock soul etc.

With the 160GB, I can now add my classical, jazz, opera, musicals, soundtracks, and compilations.

Yes!
I do believe I said it would be nice to have just about everything on hand that way I don't go "oh man I don't have K-Os on here *fast forward 8 hours later* fuck I don't have room for K-Os I'll have to delete something" rinse wash repeat with whatever I feel like listening too at the moment.

I'm glad you are happy with your 2gb nano but not everybody has no music/encodes at shitty bitrates. 2GB wouldn't even hold all of my studio/EP Nine Inch Nails.
Again, I'm glad you are able to fit all of your music (you want to listen) on a 2gb Nano but don't expect everybody else to be happy with so little space.

I had a 40GB Sony MP3 player and it was hell trying to pick what to put on it. I was always deleting stuff and adding more, a total pain in the ass I don't want to deal with if I'm spending 200+ on a MP3 player.

So are they going to eventually release an iTouch iPod with 80GB+ storage because I'd be interested in something like that...

My first post from my iPhone. I'm pretty happy so far. Did anyone else actually go buy one? When I was at the store I saw the new iPod nanos and I couldn't believe how small they were. If I didn't get an iPhone I probably would have looked into those nanos.

I broke down and picked up a 4GB iPhone today.

300.00 for the phone and 20.00 a month for a plan isn't so bad, especially since I already pay 5.00 a month for 200 texts now.

$20/month for a plan? The cheapest on the website is $60/month. How'd you get $20??

I dunno, I know my parents pick up the basic bill since Im in college, so I'm guessing the 20.00 is ontop of what they pay as a base fee.

Right on all regards.

Has anyone seen the new nanos yet? I haven't made it to my nearest Apple store. If someone has seen them in person, could you share your thoughts on it? Not the 4/8gb factor. I don't use that much space, so a nano is perfect for me :)

I just want someone who saw the new nanos in person and can comment on the size of the screen, really.

:applause:
sold :) jk. Good to hear.. but I do have to go see it in person before though.

Ah, Im back on my laptop so now I can type up more with ease.

When I went into the apple store today, I have to admit I was blown away by the look of the Nanos. They were way smaller then what I imagined, and looked really cool. The screen was pretty crisp, and if I didnt just buy the iPhone I'd seriously consider one.

I was never a fan of the old nano, but this one looks great IMO.

Oh this is really good to hear. And since I have a birthday in 12 days, this makes it all better :D

What colors were on display? If all of them, what looks the best? I am kinda torn between that new blue and new green. But red is kinda hot too. Black & Silver are cool, but they are pretty played, IMO

Hopefully something here can help you:

Anyway does anybody have any idea when the iPod Classics will be making their way into Best Buy? I'm having a really tough time holding back when their is an Apple Stores 15 minutes away from my house, but also have a gift card to Best Buy...

edit: I assumed the Apple Stores would already have their iPod Classics in stock this weekend. I just proved my own assumption wrong when I drove over there to pick one up. They aren't expecting them til next week. Didn't the conference say that these would be in store by this weekend?

Wtf? I went to the Apple store yesterday (JUST AS IT WAS CLOSING >< they wouldn't let me in, so I just ordered it from Apple's online store since it's free shipping anyway and you get free engraving as well, if you wish). Anyways, the new nanos and classics *should* already be in, unless they're sold out. (The Apple rep himself told me, as he was barring my entrance in to the store... le sigh :

Really happy I picked up the iPhone. The features are so neat, and everything is really slick.

Any idea when Youtube will have all videos converted to work on it?

Also, for anyone wondering, Jivetalk is a good instant messenger to use.
Did you see the PDA... I mean Touch there!?
Why not just check out apple.com instead of asking here? It clearly says it comes out later this month. I wont tell you exactly when so you can go look yourself.
