Are gamestop/ Eb games warranty transferable?

I preordered a PS3 today and was thinking about getting a warranty, but are they transferable like if i buy it under name Jake but sell it on ebay to John in Kentucky can he still use the warrranty?

From the experience that I've had, no, they've always asked for a ID when I returned stuff to make sure it was me(since I was the one that bought it).

I have asked this question to my local EB's manager before and his answer was yes. But i never tried it.

I thought that the person that buys it NEW off of you has warranty through Sony as long as it was sold as new.

Sony's starting to ask to send a copy of the receipt in as proof of purchase when sending in for free repairs(to make sure it's covered under the 90 day warranty). So if he sent a copy of the receipt w/ the system when selling it on ebay, they would still count that warranty as starting on the launch date. Cause they don't accept Ebay auctions as sales(found that out the hard way).

the in store GPG/PRP is NOT transferable. ive called the prp line and asked before and they said it was not. it is RETURNABLE under 7 days though.
