Are the Circuit City $5 games still $5?

I was at Circuit City on Friday trying to get those 1 cent PC games but they all rang up at $9.99. After having the cashier price check about 4 games, I really don't want to go in there asking for more price checks on games from the $4.99 sale and not buying anything after they go to all that trouble.

While looking around in the store, I noticed there were still some $5 games left that I might want to get (XGRA for Xbox, Freekstyle for GBA and a few others). I didn't want to bump up the old thread about the sale, so does anyone know if the games are still ringing up for $4.99? I thought they were but I didn't want to go back to the store with a handful of games and then tell the cashier I don't want any of them when they ring up for full price.

It's very unlikely that any of the $5 CC games are still $5.

The CC staff, in its due dilligence, have covered up most of the the $5 titles' UPC with a $19.99 Value Game tag UPC, so they'll ring up at $19.99.

Chances are that it might still be $5 with the right UPC, though with the "Value Game" UPC, it'll come up $19.99.

One example I saw was Star Wars: Starfighter SE, which was on the $5 CC list, though had one of the "Value XBox Game" UPC's on it. Lifting up a little bit of the UPC showed the right UPC, which I guess would scan out at the right price.

So as long as it doesn't have a value tag, it should stilll be $4.99? I know that XGRA didn't have the value sticker, not sure about Freekstyle so I'll have to take a look.

I hate those value stickers, I ran into the same problem in December during their other sale with Matt Hoffman's Pro BMX 2. It was supposed to be $4.96 but rang up $19.99. I guess that's why.

Oh yeah I hit the same thing back then. Man that one pissed me off.

I think they started putting value stickers barcodes/stickers on them if they're still around, in which case they ring up at whatever price value games go for. I think its $20

They're not $5 anymore. The sale is over. I've seen a lot of old $5 games at my CC, they all rang up at full price.

No they haven't. On saturday, I saw Quantum Redshift for $5 without a special tag, and I also bought Crimson Sea for $5 at the begining of the month.
The only game I've seen that went up is counter strike since microfot decided to make it a PH. DOA3 will most likely be a full $20 since it's a PH.

I missed out on their previous sale. They had sold their titles before the date posted, so all that was left was crappy sports titles. =(

They tried that shit at my CC. Imagine the look on their faces when I ripped that fucker off. If you see a value UPC either ask the, nicely to rip it off, or if that doesn't work, rip it straight off.

I was at CC yesterday and they still had a few $5 PS1 and DC games from the sale (old sports titles). None of the current generation games that were on sale were $5 anymore.

My CC still has a rack of $5 games. Mostly PS1 games, but I grabbed Shaun Palmer's Pro Snowboarder for PS2 there on Tuesday. I guess it's a YMMV kinda thing.

I as well.

I finally got a chance to go back to CC. Freekstyle for GBA did ring up for $4.99. It's good to know that the sale is still going on just in case something on the list is still on the shelves and doesn't have the value sticker.

When you say "new stickers," what do you mean? Do you mean the $19.99 CC UPC stickers that are in the upper left corner of the front of the game? Or do you mean the UPC sticker that is placed on the plastic, over the back of the UPC code on the bottom corner of the back of the game box?

Some of the $5 sale CC games don't have a Value Game sticker or a new (removable, and on the plastic wrapper) UPC, but do have the CC $19.99 sticker on the top left corner (as pretty much all CC products do). Would these possibly ring up at $5?

Sorry if I was confusing. :)

I think anything that dosen't have a value sticker UPC over the old UPC should still be ringing up at 5$ still since it was a clearance sale. I was at Circuit City on Tuesday & took a copy of Wrestlemania XIX for the GameCube up just to see & it came up at 5$
