are there any 360 games that play like the God of War games for the ps2?

Keep dreaming nothing on 360 comes close to how that game plays at the moment. I'm not really sure if we'll see a game like that on 360 anytime soon.

No. God of War 2 is really extremely original. The huge gigantic boss fights are simply something out of this world amazing.

Devil May Cry 4 is another action game of the sort, but it won't play the same at all. I also don't expect it to be great from the vids, but here's hoping.

You can pick up Ninja Gaiden, though. It's an absolutely fantastic game, one of my favorites of the last gen. It doesn't play like God of War either, but it's fantastic in its own right.

Games like God of War are once-in-a-blue-moon amazing. Simply unbelievably good gems that someone up there bestows upon us when he's feeling very generous.

i rather play shadow of colossus than god of war for boss battles.

hack and slash then button combinations gets old pretty fast.
Killswitch might be similar. I know you take cover like in Gears.
... God of War ... not Gears of War :) and Killswitch was just plain sad.

No, but I'm sure someone will be more than happy to rip it off for an "original title" that is a multiplatform release somewhere down the line.

Too Human looks like it features some similar gameplay, but also looks like it will rely more heavily on some RPG elements than GoW's simple weapon-leveling system.

That would be perfectly fine with me as long as it's as good as God of War. Not likely, but I don't really care if a game is a "clone," as long as it's good.

Ninja Gaiden on Xbox is somewhat like GoW2, just not as good. I'd say grab Ninja Gaiden Black if you're really wanting a GoW2-like game.

i got the xbox 360 this past christmas, so i am not too familiar with 360 games, never had an xbox, but god of war has been out for a long time, i can't believe no game company has tried to clone the game play of it, i will try out ninja gaiden black if i can find it, thanks for all the comments and suggestions

i've never played GOW, but i would think that the Prince of Persia titles might be similiar for xbox. i'm sure they're backwards compatible and are sick games.

My first impression when playing GoW was that it felt very similar to the Prince of Persia games. Bear in mind that my experience is limited to about 3 hours in GoW (just started playing) and PoP on the GC.

I think all 3 Prince of Persia games are superior to God of War, but only Sands of Time is backwards compatible.

As others have mentioned, Ninja Gaiden and Prince of Persia are the closest in terms of gameplay/action/puzzle solving.

That being said, the new Conan game coming out looks remarkably similar to the GoW franchise.

Viva Pinata has very similiar gameplay. God of War is that game where you force animals to fuck, sell their kids for chocolate money and then beat the parents to death with a shovel... right?

I can't believe nobody has mentioned Conan. That conan action game by THQ coming out early next year is suppose to be quite a God of War rip off.

I'm playing GOW now, after being told it was the best action game ever... IMO, it doesn't come close to Ninja Gaiden. I also think that the first PoP game is better. I would recommend those two if you're looking for something in the same style of gameplay.

I would tend to disagree on the similarity of gameplay b/w Prince of Persia and God of War (very different cameras and PoP has a lot more platforming), but the first and third PoPs are fantastic games and you should absolutely pick them up. Plus they should be nice and cheap by now.
