Are there any demos?

I don't think there are any demos yet. The DS had "demos" but you had to download them and could not save them since there was not any memory. You could get them at download stations and through the Wii. In theory Nintendo should be able to do it with the 3DS. It would be of great help to those of us that are wondering how the 3D effect is in certain games.
 
I think Nintendo said at E3 that they will release some demos on the eShop later this year.

I'd hope that they're handled more like DS demos (stable core of demos for their own games with more available temporarily as new releases come out) than WiiWare (small selection of demos that are available for a limited time).
