Are there any sites where I can download in-game scenes from games?

For example, anywhere where I can download the cinemas from the Metal Gear Solid Games, or non-fmv final fantasy sequences? Sometimes I love a game's story so much that I just want to experience it without having to devote so many hours I don't have to playing it.

Anybody know of any sites that offer downloads like these?

That would so rock!

Wow, guessing from the lack of replies it looks like these types of sites aren't too prevalent. Kind of a bummer!

I'm looking for a good quality of the secret ending video Deep Dive for Kingdom Hearts Final Mix. I found one awhile back but the quality sucked when the guy starts fighting all the heartless.

I'm assuming you're being sarcastic?

Heh because that would be like 120 hours of cinemas...... You might as well buy the game and just work your way through the 5 minutes of gameplay between each cutscene. ;)

No actually Xenosaga's about 12 hours. They sell them on Ebay.

7.5 actually. There was something called "Project X" I remember a while back, don't know what happened to it.

I agree with the OP that it's nice to get to look back at some cool cutscenes that are ingame that are usually never viewable again unless played through again. I want some GTA: Liberty City Stories scenes as well as some FF8 scenes...

As for the Xenosaga stuff, didn't Namco give out a DVD with the entire Xenosaga 1 story available to watch? I am pretty sure Ebay would have a copy or two...

That disc only has the pre-recorded videos. It doesn't include the console-generated cutscenes.

I like to see ALL the cutscenes, not just the pre-recorded videos.

I definitely agree with this. I wish every next gen game that contain lots of cut scenes comes with a movie browser option after u complete the game. Blue Laguna's site also has all the FF8 scenes available for download.

I don't know of a site with all those cutscenes, but I know of a program that will rip all the FMVs off of the dvd. I'm at school right now, but once I get home I can find the link with the program. I think it rips all the videos. I haven't compared the videos to that preorder disc that has most of the videos. I ended up with atleast a few gig of xenosaga FMVs.

I haven't tried to see if many other games work with the program yet. Some don't work. I'm not sure why. It might be because the videos are encrypted. I was trying Digital Devil Saga 2 because I wanted to rip the intro and then get theme music off of that.

That would be great, I really don't understand why they don't offer that as an option. I guess maybe it'd be a lot of work for only a certain amount of people to enjoy but I'd love it.

Not true, most of the cutscenes were "console-generated" ones. They just cut some small stuff here and there to make it fit on the DVD (the video quality took a hit in the process.)

Okay well I have not seen the Xenosaga Bonus DVD, but I've heard that it skips signifigant portions of the story, trimmed from 8 hours to only 4 hours, and doesn't flow very well narratively (i.e. confusing for newbies).

And, I already know how to view the pre-recorded videos on my PS1/2 discs. What I (and the original poster) want is to view the *console-generated* scenes. FF10 lets you walk to a Theater and hear/view all the music/videos of the game. Unfortunately, those videos don't contain any story or dialogue, so they're pretty much worthless plotwise.

.

For anyone who's interested, I'm selling a Final Fantasy 8 dvd that contains over 11 hours of cutscenes/story. It will be auctioned on Ebay during Thanksgiving break. (Yes that was a shameless plug.) ;-)

What programs do you use to view the ps1/2 discs? I'd like to know if it is something different from what I've used. I'd like any other tips that you might have. So far the tools I've found haven't worked on digital devil saga 2.

I used:
GiGaHeRz's FMV Search & Extract Tool
This rips the pss files off of the disc. To view them you need to use:

PSS Player

I also found this guide for extracting Hidden FMVs. If you follow that guide from Optional step: Getting the sound on, you can convert the files you extracted into avi files with their audio.

One thing I need to try is using the procedure in that guide and see if it gets the same numbe of movies that Search & Extract Tool got. I do think the tool got more of the video than what was put on the bonus DVD.
