Are there Cheap Video Games in Hong Kong? (similar to Japan)

I live in Hong Kong, and I have to say, the cheapest stuff isn't in Kowloon. Go to Wan Chai. There's a computer mall (Wan Chai 188) that sells lots of games cheap (and even porn). You'll definitely find good stuff there. I don't have an address, but it's rather obvious to see. Ask around, you'll definitely be able to find it.

rudeboie, you can also try the Wanchai Computer Center (anyone and everyone knows it in Hong Kong - it's even in Wikipedia). It's pretty close to the Oriental 188 shopping mall that flyworld3 mentioned, about 5-10 minutes away by foot.
There are three main game shops there that sell games and peripherals (plus a high-end one that sells loads of PC gear). I picked up Red Alert 3 about 2 weeks ago; the game came with a T-shirt and a 2GB USB stick. Pretty cool. The bundle cost me USD12.50 (98HKD).
You are bound to find great deals here in Hong Kong. Since it's so easy to get pirated games, publishers often add value by including extras to sweeten the deal.
Another example is the EA Experience (you have to take the Peak Tram to get there). I picked up Spore Creature Creator when it was just released for something like 11USD which is about right, but they also let me choose a keychain, a lapel and a skin for my PSP.
Finally, you should still take a trip to Shamshuipo (that's in Kowloon) and better deals or not, check out Dragon Computer Center and Golden Computer Center (look for the Dragon and Golden Computer Center exit signs in the Shamshuipo subway stop - again, anyone and everyone who lives in Hong Kong knows these places). You are bound to be entertained by the plethora of console and PC hardware and software, gray market / parallel import items, second-hand items and collectibles (you can also find similar in Oriental 188 but hey, Hong Kong is a small city and it takes you about 20 minutes by subway to go from one place to another).

Believe it or not, those exact same places for games are your best bets for mobile / PDA deals. Shamshuipo has its famous "Apliu Street" which is chock-full of second-hand / pawned goods, and Oriental 188 sells its fair share of second-hand electronics, DVDs and Blu-rays.
When I moved to Hong Kong I bought my first CRT TV and fridge in Shamshuipo. They both were second-hand, but the store still gave me a 12-month warranty on both items (which I never had to use). Generally, second-hand shops in Oriental 188 give you "remaining warranties" for second-hand items; I bought a cheapo second-hand mobile which still had 11 months warranty left on it - practically new! Two stores to the right of that one, I picked up a mint 2nd-hand Sony PEG-UX50 PDA with box and all about five years ago and it still works like new.
You get good deals here in Hong Kong if you have the patience to walk around (a lot!) and take your time looking.
A word of advice: for second-hand items in Apliu Street, haggle the price (it's harder to haggle in shopping malls). Even if they don't want to lower the price, they will usually be willing to throw in a freebie here and there to sweeten the deal.

A friend of mine will be in Hong Kong next month and I am planning on asking them to pick up two games for the Xbox 360. They are out of print and I am having a hard time finding them online. So my question is do you think they would have these games in stores and which stores should I ask them to check... Price range would be helpful too if possible...

Check out Oriental 188 (directions can be found in this thread) - plenty of second-hand / old games for sale on the first floor. I haven't seen those games, but if you are after out-of-print stuff it's worth a look.

Wow, I just visited Wanchai Computer Center and made it to Shamshuipo in Kowloon. I was blown away, just speechless on all the electronics. I have never seen anything like it before . I think I had a nerd orgasm. It's a never ending mall of everything electronic. It was so hard to focus as they is products everywhere. As for games, there is everything under the the sun. The prices where great ,even cheaper than the US.
It was my first trip to HK and I had a great time. It's a beautiful city, great subway system( MTR, it's the cleanest subway I have used. I live in SF CA and Bart is a mess compared to MTR)
I will be relocating to HK in March for 3 years and I am looking forward to a new adventure.

If you come to HK for shopping, Golden Centre in Sham Shui Po is generally the best place besides some malls in Mong Kok.
Anything on Hong Kong Island is usually a bit more expensive than on Kowloon side since rents there are higher as well but there is always the exception.
Besides physical shops and the well known online shops like play-asia (but very overpriced) I have been running my own online shop for over a decade. I'm phasing it out for most of the part right now since I've been working in media production for the past 6 years but I still can get all current games and consoles and a big variety of older games, hit me up if you guys are looking for deals.
