You guys are gonna want to kick my booty but I'm replaying Suikoden IV. After playing Suikoden Tactics I found myself wanting to play SIV to refreash myself with the game. I'm not sure If I'll actually commit myself and beat the game, but playing a new game + helps in the fact I retain all my items that aren't equiped, potch (money) and the world map is complete. I hated filling in the dark areas of that stupid map.

So far It's not as bad as I remembered. Atleast the voice acting isn't so bad.

I tried getting into Odin Sphere but I wasn't enjoying it. I'm really in the mood to play an RPG and I want to play Suikoden. Since it's the only one if the series I ............................. Why I'm I trying to justify playing Suikoden IV? I should just say I'm a retard with crappy tastes in games, THE END.

BTW I'm sorry if I offend anybody with my retard comment.

I've had Nocturne and DDS1 & 2 for less than a month and I'm already bored with them. I put a lot of effort into getting them at a decent price too

That's too bad, I had alot of fun with Nocturne. I've been wanting to give it a second play through some time. Out of curiosity how far did you get into it?

Is there anything you don't get bored of? ;)

I'm not done with it, I just got bored with it. I'm only 6 or so hours into it though, I'm sure I'll keep going eventually. I just got other stuff that's occupying my time :p

Nah...probably not.

I was making good progress in The Darkness until my save got overwritten. That's the last game I was enjoying

I read that and it's very fucked up indeed. That has to be the worst save system EVER, I mean wtf were they thinking? I'd shelf it for like two days then pick it up again. If not just sell that bitch while you can get decent money for it.

Yeah, I'm interested to see this review as well. This game has soooo much potential.

Though I think it's clear that Markman did like it.

Yeah, I did today... I got lazy at home and didn't feel like driving 2 hours again to go to shitty Anime Expo... Even though ATLUS was there...

Speaking of ATLUS, I talked to one of their booth workers, probably just a guy hired to talk there, lol... he had no idea on anything about the game... Oh well... :(

yeay they looked rather useless... but they gave me free stuff!!

at least NIS America booth had some of their higher-up staff chilling there that I got to talk to!

NIS didnt give me any free stuff tho :(

Word to free bumpy trot harmonica keychains(You can actually use them as real harmonicas! lolol)

Overall the RPG gaming presence at AX was weak aside from the FFXI booth....

yuuup~!! small asian girls showin off mad skinz~~

damn I shoulda taken pics :(

btw I didnt get any harmonica?!?! wtf?!?!

all I got from Atlus was cell phone straps/screen wipes and a dvd

Question about Persona 3 - Without spoiling anything are there any returning characters from the previous Persona games?

It seem like it's a little bit better then the other version according reviewers. In my opinion I rather go for gba version. It cheaper with manufactured suggest retail price of $20, it contains both final fantasy 1 & 2 , have most of extra features, and no load time.

according to wikipedia
The PSP version has higher resolution 2D graphics, the FMV sequences from the Origins release and the bonus dungeons from the Dawn of Souls release. It also contains an all new dungeon, as well as an Amano Art Gallery. The gallery uses the PSP's naturally high resolution to display high quality art by Yoshitaka Amano, with new pieces of art being unlocked as you progress through the game. The new dungeon, titled Labyrinth of Time (時の迷宮, Toki no Meikyū?), is a dungeon with a time limit, in which the player's HP constantly decreases as time passes. The player is able to exchange abilities such as White Magic usage and the Dash command in order to extend to the time limit, allowing them to delve deeper into the dungeon

I'm not so poor that I care about a $10 difference, I despise FFII, and I play my PSP far more than my DS... Guess I'll get this version lol.

Markman, can you confirm or deny this? ^^^^

I don't care much for remake. I have a hard time playing the same game second time around. It doesn't bring the same experience the first time playing it. Right now, having a tough time staying awake with final fantasy 6 for gba.

I hate final fantasy ii as well, the stupid system involving key words advancing further in the game.

I just finished Final Fantasy III for the DS, and had a really good time with it. The whole job system was something new to me and it turned out to be a totally welcome breath of fresh air. My only gripes with the game are: (1) the fact you cannot save in dungeons, and (2) the fact that the final boss was so much stronger than anything faced up till that point. I had to level my party for atleast 2 hours before taking on the final boss. Aside from that, FFIII is the best FF I've played...

... I've only played I & II on the GBA Dawn of Souls

Not sure what I'm going to try next... I could push on and play FFIV, but I've been itching to try out .Dot Hack.

I dunno, I couldn't stand FFIV, mainly because
everyone kept getting killed off. As soon as those twins were axed, I shut the game off forever
. I can take a lot of things in my rpgs, but that crossed the line.
That's one of the reasons I liked it... I was actually annoyed that
they came back!
What!? Ah, you're kidding me!
Even that old Sage guy?

I'm gonna start playing Phantasy Star Universe in a few days. It's my first MMORPG. Can anyone give me any tips on farming for EXP, gaining easy Mesta, anything?
Here's a tip: The game sucks, don't bother. Played it for a month, and regret every minute of it.
No offense but posts like this is why this thread isn't as good as it could be. I can understand your dislike for certian games but if you don't have anything helpful to contribute why even bother posting? I could care less if you hate the game or not.

Why would my post affect anyone else? I have a high opinion of myself, but it sure in the hell isn't so high I feel my very presence in this thread stops other people from posting, but apparently I am just that important. Thanks for the ego boost.

Also I really don't care what you think about my opinion, or the game. I stated my opinion on a RPG in the RPG thread. If you don't like it, feel free to ignore me. My feelings won't be hurt.

you can play areas over and over...not sure about specific spots for good loot though. lots of neon in that game!

Hey, I did say "No Offense" ;) And you're welcome for the ego boost, sounds like you need it.

I was playing the demo for a few days and a couple friends and myself decided to play it for a month. It sucks that you can't transfer items from your demo character to the real character.

yeah. the demo is kinda cool since you can play with same guy for a month. so it's my free PSO fix from time to time, though I don't like it enough to purchase the game.

Sometimes I just feel like level grinding, but the demo feels like a waste of time since you lose your character after a month. Of course being a CAG I got it cheap so the extra $9.99 to play just feels like paying full price.
I'm gonna start playing Phantasy Star Universe in a few days. It's my first MMORPG. Can anyone give me any tips on farming for EXP, gaining easy Mesta, anything?
I cancelled my Hunter's Licence last month, so I don't remember much. All I remember is that the Dragon Boss is your friend for farming both exp and meseta. Planet Parum, beat the Dragon the first time (1st time gives you relatively nothing), then turn around and head back into that gate to go through a different dungeon and fight the same dragon, but for a greater amount of exp and meseta.

If you're low level, you can go to Moatoob and do some Bruce runs at the Guardian's mission counter. Those are easy, and almost everyone who has a party knows what they're doing. After about 100 or so runs however, it gets repetitive.

Fighting the same dragon over and over and over again is kinda why I cancelled my hunter's licence. :/ I plan on getting another one once the expansion comes out. Maybe.

Hey, my ego is my most endearing trait! Anyway I apologize for being snippy with you. I think I was just hungry.

Play FFXI instead!

^ Thanks bro, I'll definatly take all that into consideration. One more question: can you have multiple characters like the demo or are you only allowed one? Cause once the expansion comes out I may want to create a new character.

It's cool. I totally forgot about FFXI (I recently got my 360 a few months ago.) How much is it to play that? And do you know where I can get one cheap?

I've been playing it for a few years now. I actually took a break for about a year 2 years ago, and recently came back to it. I have a level 62 white mage at the moment. The game does have some flaws, but it's just so damn adddicting.

You can get it for the 360 for $20 new, and it costs $12.95 a month to play. Also you get a free month. The hardest thing about the game is the first 10 levels. Once you get past that the game really begins.

If PSU falls through I'l pick this one up. Is their an offline mode? I just completely forgot this game existed. Also if you're hungry I have a Taco on my tradelist. :bouncy:
