Arkham City Batarang Wired Controller $19.98 (XBOX360)

No problem with an in-store price match in Charlottesville, Va. Perfect timing as my dog just chewed the end off my PC gamepad. Good fit for playing DC Universe Online hopefully. Thanks to the OP and those who posted mini-reviews!
lol... I recall the PS3 concept controllers were referred to as batarangs. Good times!
Close. IIRC they were referred to as boomerangs. It's a shame they never saw the light of day. I would have loved to have tried a new controller layout.
Also, I second the desire for a polished wood controller, sounds like pure class.
Indeed. Those would be the controllers you put when you have guests. They would also be fun to throw at assholes who play with running quarterbacks in Madden.
Only issue we had was that after like a day or two, the right trigger would just randomly trigger which was super annoying.
lol uhhh wtf
Can anyone confirm they manage to pick this up in store for 19.99? Also...amazon user seems to give it really crappy review.
Just came back and got denied. I forgot to go to the customer service desk. Might try again later at the same location or a different one later on today.
I like Gears 3 controller better. Looks nicer and is wireless.
Can you get me one for $20? No.

I grabbed one, went to the customer service desk and said I wanted to do a pricematch to Toysrus.com. She took the controller, scanned it in a computer and it popped up online. I got it with no problems.

Though now that I have it out of box I can't say I'm crazy about how it feels in hand. I'll see how I feel after playing with it a bit. It's primarily for PC play.

picked one up after work for PC use. i had a bit of resistance but they could not argue as the site did not read online only and ultimately got it for the 19.98 price. thanks op!!

I have a really stupid question, maybe someone knows, does a wired Microsoft controller work with flash games on the PC/internet (I have the official wired controller), I know I could try but my PC is really finicky when installing new things. One time I somehow managed to disable all my USB ports when trying to install a device. I assume the controller plugs right into Windows 7 and installs immediately.

Or does it only work with like, games for windows that you buy at retail stores?

Picked up one in store today. The clerk in the games section was able to price match with no problem.

The controller itself is a piece of crap. It has a button to cycle through 7 LED colors but they should have applied the cost of that gimmick for better parts. The left thumbstick sticks when pressed all the way to the right and both sticks feel cheap in general. The d-pad feels better than a normal 360 controller (not a hard feat). I only bought it for testing XNA games on my PC. I may take it back and exchange it for another one with a working stick. I feel bad for anyone who bought one of these at full price.

Id exchange it because the one I bought is great and in full working condition.

Sucks that anyone got denied the PM. If you have an issue, you should ask to speak to a manager. There's probably a ton of employees (esp left over seasonal hires) who don't know we can match .com. At the store I work at, we had 10-12 of these. So I picked one up after my shift. I showed my manager the website first, because I figured the price adjustment would be too much of a difference for the cashier to do without an override. My manager then even checked the emails to make sure we weren't told not to pm this one (dick). But it worked out in the end.

finally got them to pm it, i had to speak to their "specialist" their asst manager said they don't. it helps to bring a print out and be very polite. $19.98 is a great price, plus this will make a great gift for my friend's kid who loves everything batman.

I've played Jamestown and Cave Story+ on Steam using it with no problems. It was detected by both games.

I picked one up at my local TRU. I like the feel of the controller, the sticks feel a little more loose than the official MS controller but I think it's a good controller over all.

I doubt they would price match for me here unless their price matching policy has changed recently because I have tried before and they said they do not match the website because the website and the store are completely different companies. I really don't need another controller though. Both "Companies" have the same name and logo though!

i had to go twice, for them to PM. Call the store first and ask to speak to guest specialist or something like that...don't just show up if you're not confident they will PM. After calling and confirming and also bringing the printout it was easy. They do need a manager to override because it's a $30 markdown otherwise the guest specialist can do it if it's less than a certain amount.

Wow, seriously? I wouldn't have been able to resist making a comment about how they need to sue this other company who is stealing their name and logo.

the other option is to just order it tru their website if you want it that badly...if you can get free shipping i don't see this is a problem but an option. you figure even with shipping, how much if your personal time to get out to TRU and get turned down? $5-$6 bucks, i'll stay home esp on a day like today.
i'll stay home esp on a day like today.
It's 65° and sunny here lol.

But I'm not sure where this "specialist" thing came from. The only position at TRU like that is the Shipping/Receiving Specialist. And that's not a supervisor/manager position.

edit: Also, the website is (or at least was) run by a different company.
Anyone else able to test this controller on Super Meat Boy for PC?
Use a keyboard.

Since I have to drive 45 min to the nearest TRU and deal with their We will not match our own website because its a different company spiel it would be much more worth it for me to pay for shipping. Though if I could have used my shoprunner on this I probably would have bought it instantly however shoprunner is not valid on this item so there is no way to get free shipping unless you spend more money with TRU, which I don't want to do. They are the most unfriendly and the store with the worst customer service and crappy rewards program. I would probably rather spend money with BB or Gamestop as they seem to be the lesser of the evils here.

I do keep all my avenues open for shopping as I mentioned in other posts here however I will only pick up something at TRU if I am already in the area and there happens to be a good deal.

yeah, that's the one. "shipping/receiving specialist" whatever her title was it was something specialist...and luck has it she got the manager to PM it for me.

i've driven from one end of texas to the other, it's not always sunny there...oi when you guys flood. I never want to see a sign again that says "flood water height" and the stick in the ground goes up to 6 ft.
PM'd at BB with a reward cert. Not bad for $15!
How did you PM? Did you have them pull up TRU's website? Last time I tried to PM a TRU price, they said it had to be a physical ad.

Thanks OP! Picked one up today in stores. No problem price matching.

These are some of the few pretty good 3rd party controllers. I have a Power A controller that I use instead of the horrible IMO PS3 controller. Sticks are not and good as 360s but the layout and feel that I prefer is there plus I think it was $19.99 brand new for a wired one. $15 now on Walmart.com, don't see a cheap 360 one listed..

Yep. Just walked up to CS and said "I'd like to price match this with Toys "R" Us, please." She said it was fine and went to check the website, then allowed me to use my RZ cert on it. Went perfect!

I was running errands today and decided to stop by TRU just for the heck of it to see if I could get them to price match their website. It couldn't have gone smoother. I had someone in the electronics department (who was the easiest person to find for the first time in history) bring the controller up to customer service and the CSR there price matched within five minutes.

Just from using the controller for the last five minutes I have to say it's worth $20 but definitely not much more than that. It's a little smaller than a standard controller and much lighter. It feels slightly cheap but durable enough for general use. Can't complain for the price but I would feel seriously cheated if I bought this at $50.

Yeah, definitely not $50 worth... I do like the changing LEDs though! Pink Batman for the win!!!

Price matched at the TRU in Carle Place, NY, next to the Roosevelt Field Mall. It was locked up so had to go to customer service on the other side of the store. A rep then went over and got it for me. About a 5 minute delay because of this but the transaction went very smoothly. There were still at least 10 there yesterday.

One of the employees at the Lincoln, NE store was nice enough to go on the site and print off the ad for me when I wanted to PM TRU. I might try to PM one in the next few days, IDK.

BB - PM is so YMMV. It can be a great experience or worse than the DMV. This BB wouldn't call more than on TRU, the BB I used to go to would call 3 if it wasn't in stock.

I got the wireless PS3 version of this in one of those BB online Xmas sales. It's pretty decent for a 3rd party controller, solid build quality, the floatiness of the dpad not too bad compared to most.

Does it have a killer dead zone on the analog sticks?

Went to to the Toys R Us in Tustin, and they said "We don't do price matching." Didn't matter that I showed them that it was from their website.
