Asian movie thread
Ok, so on my IMDB movies to see list I have:

Battle Royale
Visitor Q
Sympathy for mr. Vengence
Sympathy for Lady Vengence
JSA
Ong-Bak
3 Extremes

I 'have' Ichi the Killer, and I saw Oldboy which is one of the most fucking amazing movies ever. How's my list look?
Bumping this up for more suggestions of movies like the ones below as well as opinions of other movies. I tend to like more current movies i.e. '97+
Just added Audition which i've heard good things about. :)

The type of shit they did in Crouching Tiger. Where it looks like everyone is leaping like 100 ft off the ground and walking on air and shit

I have two asian movies that I would reccomend.

Versus: if you like Army of Darkness or any other real B zombie movies, it's great. It has zombies, wizards, time travel, swords, and machine guns.

Suicide Club: I saw it at a friends house and we could not stop laughing. Not that it's a really funny movie, but rather it's just that disturbing and casual about everything that it makes you laugh.

seconded. there were some parts where the dead-pan delivery was hilarious.
i should warn that if people see it, they shouldn't expect a detective story (like you're sord of led to believe in the beginning.)

finally got to see Lady Vengeance this weekend. Wow...the director really out did himself, I felt.

Some people not like the "plot within a plot" towards the end...both for the continuity of the movie and for how disturbing it is.

up next...Last Life in the Universe

Not enough to bring the movie down. It's there, but it's very muted except for a couple instances. Good flic, not Fist of Legend or OUATIC good, but worth a view.

Has anyone here seen the Yakuza Papers series of films? I've heard they're pretty good, I'm wondering what you guys think of them...

Thats a great series, I've seen 3 of them up to proxy war. Check out graveyard of honor by the same director, and very similar in terms of style, & subject matter, it's even got the funky music and all.

Dog Bite Dog has been my favorite HK movie of the year. It just fucking rocks.

Oldboy is still better but I found the "Fade to B&W" version on the 2 disc Korean version make Lady Vengence a much much better film.
