Assassin's Creed $4.99 Hastings Rebate

So, Assassin's Creed has been $29.99 for a couple weeks, and now Hastings is offering a $25 mail-in rebate. You have to send in the UPC also, but this price beats the used price. Not sure how long this will last or if it's YMMV or not, but I've doubled checked in Huntsville and Killeen, TX.

hastings store is like 25 miles from me but if you could post the rebate form that would be AMAZING! OP..do you know if this applied online as well?
 
It's $4.99 AFTER the $25 rebate. So you're paying 30, getting 25 off, which results in only spending about 5 bucks on this game. I've only tried it with the PS3 version, and it has worked. If anything I would just call and ask them; the store in Hunstville had signs up, but the one in Killeen didn't, yet the one I bought was in Killeen and I still got the rebate. For some reason, at the Killeen store, the used copy was 29.99 and the new copy was ALSO 29.99, and the rebate wasn't applied until checkout.

I got one of my minions to do it in Killeen, but I also don't have a scanner, so I couldn't post the rebate form anyway. I'm sure a phone call would save lots of trouble, though.
 
Thanks a lot OP. I snagged a new PS3 copy at my local Hastings. As you can imagine the employees were clueless about the rebate and the price drop. I had to have them look the rebate up in the computer to make sure it was still valid (because there was no signage whatsoever about the rebate). Also when the guy rang me up he manually punched in the price of 59.99 which was on the tag and I was like "hey wait a minute, isn't that on sale for $30 now?". He then checked in the computer and was like "oh yeah it is, sorry". The rebate printed out after I checked out. For $5 after rebate this game should definitely be worth it.
 
My brother-in-law picked me up a 360 copy and it came up $10 AR. I'll still take it for that price, but I thought it was a bit odd.
 
Confirmed. Just picked up the 360 version new for 29.99 here in Indiana. Obviously the salespeople didn't know anything about the rebate, so he had to actually ring it up before the rebate form showed up. Don't know if it was 360 specific, but it was only a $20 rebate, which brings the game price to 9.99 - still not bad. The form says that the deal is good until 8/23/08. It also says wait 8-10 weeks for the rebate, but I've always gotten rebates from Hastings earlier than expected. Solid deal - thanks to the OP!
 
So I guess the rebate is 20 for the 360 and 25 for the Ps3? That's kind of bizarre. Glad I could get the word out, guys! This was the first deal I've ever posted.
 
I was at Hastings and saw AC and the sign Hastings had up said, AC $39.99 after $25 rebate. And the game was only $29.99. So, if they are that screwed up with the pricing there was no way I was hanging my hat on ever getting the rebate. Plus, I hate rebates.
