Facebook game only, it raises your chances at picking up items.

If you collect a specific set of items in in the Facebook game you unlock something in Brotherhood.

You can also earn 40 Uplay points with the Facebook game. To unlock all the Brotherhood Uplay rewards you need 140 Uplay points, the catch is you can only earn 100 in game. If you want to unlock everything you'll either need to play another Uplay game or the Facebook game.
