Just felt like making a thread to list/discuss all of the cool compilations that are out.

I picked up Genesis and Capcom 2 today, is anybody else thrilled about the 20$ price tag when compared to Live! Arcade and moreso Nintendo's fancy pants VC?

Also, we can warn people about the crappy compilations (Sega Classic remakes, for example).

I just got the Capcom Classics 2 collection and soo far it kicks ass! The games may not have the most recognizable names, but they are all clones of Final Fight, or Ghost n Goblins, or Golden Axe. And theres a few shmups in there as well. I think out of 20 games in the collection, maybe 2 or 3 are stinkers. Theres an arkanoid clone thats unplayable due to the rotten controls. But almost everything else was awesome! Highly reccomended if you like classics compilations.

Quick question: In Capcom Classic V.2 is there a way to set continues other than 0 or infinite for most games?

I know I could just budget but still, I'm curious as to whether there are more options.

Do I prefer the compilations to the download services? Hell fucking yes. Not only do I get a lot more games for the money, but I actually own the games rather than just having a license from a company to play a game. And I like all the various museum extras these games have.

Finally, Taito Collection 2 hit US ... i loves the 1st collection & look forward pickup 2nd collection. Still didn't finished Sega Gennessis Collection (it's pretty hard games).

Oh yeah, is that first Taito Collection a necessary purchase? I haven't played many Taito games, but if there's good shmups on there (wasn't G Darius on there?) or some worthwhile sidescrollers... then I'm in.

It could just be my system, but man it seems that Genesis collection loads a lot more roughly than Capcom v.2, which was done by the same company.
With the Midway Arcade Treasuers 1 and 2, what are the games? I have number 3 I wasn't that impressed.
MAT3 was a collection of racing games, so it wasn't as impressive in number or quality.

Seconded reccomendation for Taito Legends. It's $5 at BB after the coupons in the deals thread. The NewZealand story is great.
