Atari Lynx anyone?
This is one of my favorite portable systems.
Great system, right? DId you ever play Double Dragon on it? I'm curious about it, but have never had the chance to play it, and it's pretty rare to find. The only ebay seller right now is in Austrailia, and shipping is unreal.

The Lynx is awesome unless you are a battery. Then it hates you! I have one with APB, Rygar, Gates of Zendocon, Gauntlet III and used to have California Games but that went missing years ago.

I wanted to try one back in the day (childhood) but I was always busy with Genesis and SNES games. I owned a Gamegear briefly and I thought it was horrible and resold it.

What kind of battery life did the Lynx have?

I'm a big fan of the Lynx, and have over 130 carts (counting different cart styles, protos, etc). This is one system where I believe Atari screwed up. So much more could have been done for it (look at EOTB that was recently released on it).
Double Dragon is a great game on the Lynx, as well as stuff like Desert Strike. Pick them up... you will not be disappointed.

No, I've never got a chance to play double dragon, but I think it's exactly like the arcade version, so yes, it would be awesome.:)

One of the best things LYNX had going for it that the other handhelds did not was voice emulation. "Welcome Stunrunner" sounded awesome, they did human voices so well compared to everything else on the market. Powerful little machine, if I can find my ac adapter I'd be playing KLAX right now.

...but the Batman game...c'mom chris, c'mon. That and Shadow of the Beast were impossible to beat or even understand.

Love the LYNX. My dad has two and he got me one as well. We have three. One skateboard and two newer designed ones along with probably every game for it. My favorites are California Games, Crystal Mines, Chips Challenge, Slime World, Desert Strike, Blue Lightning, even Jimmy Connors Tennis lol. That system got me through awful car rides in my childhood. Great system, still have it and probably always will.
