Atelier Rorona: The Alchemist of Arland - GameFly $24.99 / GameStop LE $39.99

Ya know, I'll probably never play it but screw it, I'll buy a copy anyways. Tax + Shipping brings it up to $29.22, but still cheaper than Amazon.

I'm gonna hit gamestop on the way home.
I haven't played a jrpg like this in forever. Looks like fun.

Cool, found one of the special editions, and while I was there I also got Death smiles special edition for $29.99

Damnit GameFly! Where are your sales![/QUOTE]

After the xmas sales and with few new releases in the beginning of the year, it is hard enough for the actual members of the site to get games to rent as it is. Without them selling off even MORE of their stock. People get subscriptions for xmas and those used sales have depleted their older games so much.

In regards to this game. A warning to those interested, this was one of the slowest paced games I ever played. It's not bad if you like the style but it's slower than even a strategy rpg. Just a lot of alchemy and such.

is the one at gamestop thats 40 bucks the actual special edition or the regular one? I actually got the SE a while badck and opened it to look at the book but didn't play it. I may get another copy to keep sealed if its the special edition. I'll swing by the locan one and check

One thing i cant remember though.. is it suposed to be sealed in plastic wrap, or was it just little stickers holding it closed? I cant remember. I want to make sure its a proper sealed copy

@onetthero, you just found one, was it wrapped up or not?

Good luck finding a GameStop exclusive sealed in plastic...

After poking around a bit more, I don't think these were ever sealed unless with a sticker like most other cardboard outer collector editions.

FYI - If you find one on the shelves...you better be the one that opens the cardboard in stead of unept employees...you were warned.

They are plastic-wrapped. I have a new copy that I could sell for that price +shipping if you're interested.

This is the best Atelier game ever made, and the special edition is beautiful. Probably my favorite special edition of the past few years. I'd recommend it to any JRPG fan, honestly, because it is much better than 90% of the JRPGs available for the PS3 right now.

I still can't wait to get to this game as I have the GS edition. The second one will be in the US before we know it.

I found a gamestop one no problem, and it was most definitely plastic wrapped.

I'm on the fence still about their copy of hyperdimension neptunia. Story seems silly even for a jrpg. I know its quite sought after but....

I bought a copy from gamestop.com last week and it came sealed. And it was the special edition.

gamestop.com also seems to be the last place you can snag a new copy of hyperdimension neptunia with the artbook for retail. Everywhere else is sold out or charging $80-100 I got that a while back as well and all was sealed.

This game has pretty bad reviews on mainstream sites and jrpg sites say its pretty difficult due to the time constraints. Sounds like a lot of fetch quests with a strict time limit. Gonna have to pass even though the special edition looks nice.

These are usually stored in the back storage room at GS. Every GS around my are has 3-5 of these sitting back there. Just go up to an employee and ask them to check in the back for you. Every single one I saw was sealed and looked like they were in perfect condition (probably because they weren't sitting out there for the masses to dent).

this game most likely is sealed and others like it with the big box would be too. It is because the box would not fit on the shelves at the store. But i could be wrong, it all depends on the store if they want to be a-holes or not.

Through trial and error, I've been able to recognize which Gamestops around me are douches when it comes to stuff like this.

I have seen gutted copies of this for this at some Gamestops. Stores that know what they're doing, however, have them on a higher shelf (still in shrinkwrap) or behind the counter or in the back.

yup my local one had 2 copies. One with some torn plastic and the other with in tact plastic but it was a tad marred. I picked that one up and had them check around. I guess the one next town over has several so i'll proably swing by and see if they have one in perfect condition (id rate this one a 9/10 but i want a 10/10 damnit!)
