In a recent effort to cut down my videogame collection (I dropped half my 360 games) I am now looking into assembling the best, most condensed collection from the last generation.

Basically, it would be great if people could post their top 15-20 favorite games from the xbox, gamecube and PS2. Actually, you can even list a couple, whatever you'd like :D

I'm sure this would help others besides myself. Having a ton of games is fun, but I'd much rather have a small collection of the best-of-the-best.

Thanks to everyone in advance!

***EDIT*** here is my collection

- Halo
- Halo 2
- Halo Tripple Pack
- Dead or Alive 3

One I thought that was really good but somewhat went under the radar was Freedom Fighters. It is for any of the systems.

I'll try to think of some more but stay away from the obvious ones such as RE 4, Zelda Windwaker, etc. etc. etc.

Good one, I always wanted to try that game.

Oh, and I hope you'll be enjoying almost half my 360 collection ;)

Do you have a current list or anything?
Do you have a current list or anything?
Ooo yes, I forgot to mention when I'm finished lifting, I will go downstairs and put up what I already have.

Xbox (all 360 BC): Crimson Skies, Halo 1, Halo 2 (maybe), Ninja Gaiden Black, Panzer Dragoon Orta

Gamecube: Chibi Robo, Donkey Kong Jungle Beat, Donkey Konga 1 & 2, Wind Waker, Metroid Prime, Pac-Man Vs., Resident Evil 4 (if you're not getting the Wii version), Mario Sunshine, Smash Bros. Brawl

PS2: Shadow of the Colossus, one of the Katamari games.

Those are what I feel to be the highlights of those three systems in terms of their exclusives. Bear in mind that I don't care for RPGs that much so my PS2 list is noticably short.

i once had so many games for ps2/xbox i was lost in a room. i still have pictures somewhere i'll post soon. I traded the 150 pound box though for 40 TRUELY sealed nes games which got me $30-$70 for each one. I still have 3 left fyi

1. Adventures of lolo
2. Snoppy spectacular sports
3. Batman

I'll get the pics soon

Thanks Daroga...oh and he brings up a good point about the RPGs. I like them, but I just dont have time for them. I'd probably make an exception for a game like FFXII though. However, games that can be beaten in 8-12 hours are PERFECT.

Keep up the good work!

Pikmin and Pikmin 2 are really good.

Timesplitters 2 was really good at the time but Im not sure how it held up.

Luigi's Mansion in my opinion was really good.

Other than those, I think you have most of the essential Cube games covered.

In an effort to keep my responses as unbiased as possible, I didn't look at anything beyond the TC's statement about listing the top 15-20 games from the previous generation. What follows are my, thus far, favorite games from the last gen (in no particular order). I included imports too, I love the ones I listed.

Xbox

GTA - San Andreas
Ninja Gaiden Black
Forza Motorsport (possibly obsolete with Forza 2 coming very soon)
Splinter Cell - Chaos Theory
Halo
Rallisport Challenge 2

PS2

Gran Turismo 4
God of War (haven't played the sequel yet, I've heard awesome things)
Metal Gear Solid 3 - Substance
Ace Combat 5 (haven't played Ace Combat Zero yet, what's with the eternal 40 dollar price?)
Firepro Wrestling Returns
King of Colosseum II
Dodonpachi - DOJ

Gamecube

Star Wars - Rogue Squadron 2
Phantasy Star Online Ep. 1 & 2
Resident Evil REmake
Resident Evil 4

That about covers my choices. The above games either really floored me upon initially playing them or grew on me enough to get played for hours and hours on end. Some, like Halo and Splinter Cell - CT, did both.

Here's some you don't have listed:

PS2
Shadow of the Colossus
Ico
Gradius V
Katamari Damacy
Contra: Shattered Soldier
SMT: Nocturne
Final Fantasy XII
Suikoden V
Twisted Metal Black

GC
Chibi-Robo
Mario Baseball
Mario Golf
Resident Evil 4
Cubivore
Wario World

I'll try to stick with ones not listed, but no promises.

GameCube:
Ikaruga
Soul Calibur II (it has Link)
Super Monkey Ball 1, 2

PS2:
Amplitude
Disgaea
Gitaroo Man
Guitar Hero I, II
Hot Shots Golf 3
Ratchet/Clank Going Commando
Tenchu: Wrath of Heaven

Xbox:
Deus Ex: Invisible War
Sid Meier's Pirates!
Star Wars: KOTOR
Thief: Deadly Shadows

Multiplatform:
Black
Burnout 3
Dead to Rights
Incredible Hulk: Ultimate Destruction
Indigo Prophecy
Lego Star Wars I, II
Metal Gear Solid 2 (Substance on Xbox)
The Suffering
The Warriors

SMT Nocturne and DDS.

Also I've heard "Venus and Braves" is quite good. Rez is an obvious suggestion as well. The first two DDR's for PS are pretty much better then both DDR's on the XBox, especially in terms of what licensed songs are on it.

I'll make a list of the top 15 or so exclusive games to each console (maybe a few more for PS2 since the library is bigger) then a few multi system games that are in the top

PS2

Champions of Norrath
Devil May Cry
Disgaea
Disgaea 2
Dragon Quest 8
Dynasty Warriors 5
Final Fantasy 12
God of War 1 and 2
Guitar Hero 1 or 2
Kingdom Hearts
Onimusha Series (part 3 especially)
Ratchet and Clank Series (especially part 2 and 3)
Shadow Hearts Covenant
Tekken 5
WWE Smackdown: Here Comes the Pain (Best in the series IMO)

XBox

Dead or Alive 3 (Unless you have part 4 on X360)
Elder Scrolls Morrowind
Halo 2
Jade Empire
Metal Slug 3
Ninja Gaiden/Ninja Gaiden Black
Deathrow
Otogi 1 and 2
Panzer Dragoon Orta
Star Wars: KOTOR

Gamecube

Beach Spikers
Fire Emblem
Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker
Mario Kart: Double Dash
Metroid Prime
Paper Mario
Pikmin 2
Super Smash Bros Melee
Super Mario Sunshine

Multi Platform

SSX Tricky
Soul Calibur 2
Beyond Good and Evil
Capcom vs SNK 2
ESPN NFL 2k5
GTA: Vice City (Best in the series IMO, although you can probably grab the whole trilogy on the cheap)
Resident Evil 4

Ok everyone, thanks for the suggestions. First, I need to clean up the xbox collection. I'm thinking of getting rid of the following

- Halo
- Halo 2 (I HAVE THE HALO TRIPLE PACK)
- Dead or Alive 3
- Brothers in Arms
- Red Dead Revolver
- DDR
- DDR 2
- Brute Force
- Forza (Since Forza 2 will be out)
- Conker
- Mortal Kombat Deception
- Ninja Gaiden (because of sigma)

Now the question is, do I sell them to EB and get raped (but drop them all in one fell swoop) or throw them on my trade list here?
I'd try to trade em first, you won't get jack for old XBox games at EBStop
True that, it was the obvious choice lol. Maybe I can snag some of these great PS2 suggestions in trades!

I was thinking about rebuying a Gamecube I already have about 3 controllers, Pikmin, 3-4 official Ninty memory cards and Cubivore. Add to that:

Hardware
Gamecube with digital out
Official Component cables
Big dry erase board for multiplayer tournaments
Maybe more controllers

Games
Madden 2004(easily the best version of Madden ever)

Mario Kart Double Dash(very improved version of an awesome game)

Mario Party 5(I might have to decide which version I want first)

Mario Power Tennis(my favorite mario sports game)

Metal Gear Solid: Twin Snakes(good remake of a classic)

MVP Baseball 05(one of my favorite baseball games ever)

NCAA Basketball 2k3(rare as shit, supposed to be good too)

Resident Evil 4(no brainer)

Sonic Mega Collection(all the classics)

Super Smash Bros. Melee(no brainer)

Zelda Twilight Princess(what I played of wind waker I didn't enjoy, I prefer the OoT feel)

Others to get after these initial games:
Gauntlet Dark Legacy
Paper Mario
Mario Golf Toadstool Tour
Mario Strikers
NBA Street
Resident Evil
Resident Evil 2
Resident Evil 3 Nemesis
007 Nightfire
Ikaruga
Spiderman 2
Prince of Persia Trilogy
Bloody Rage Primal Fury
Timesplitters Future Perfect
Fight Night Round 2

This pretty much rounds up other games I'll be on the hunt for if the Gamecube actually clicks with me. All I have right now is my Xbox 360 set up on my 32" LCD HDTV, sometimes the PS2 if its actually working but it looks like my brother is taking it to college, so this summer when I get a job I'm going to be on the hunt at yard sales searching for a cheap Cube. I would just get a Wii but the software isn't established at all. If I can get a Cube for around $20, have an established amount of awesome games, and don't have to be worried about the Wii corrupting my memory cards.

You guys are leaving out the Dreamcast!

Soul Caliber
Crazy Taxi
Sonic Adventure 2
Skies of Arcadia
House of the Dead 2
Power Stone
Space Channel 5

typing of the dead > house of the dead
imo

Aight, here's what I'd say for PS2...that's all I can really make a good list for:

FFX/XII (probably pick one of 'em)
Maximo
Devil May Cry (add DMC3 if you like)
Shadow of the Colossus
God of War I/II
Katamari Damacy (add We
