My drive on my box is currently in the process of being fixed. You know how it is.......I was in Walmart looking at that new box bundled with 2 games. I couldn't take it anymore. I went to checkout. The clerk raises the flap above the serial number to scan it for the price...Wow! I didn't know it had come to this! I get the box home & get distracted because of work/family. Today, with a day off, I look over at the sealed box & come to my senses....I can make it....I can beat this... I can wait for my box to get back I say to myself and take the box back to Walmart. I even have the receipt. I thought the box had been sealed. There was one sticky circle taping it shut. Yes, I was naive. The clerk, seemingly a real pro at this, immediately takes the sticky circle off & starts rifling thru the whole box!!!! I'm like,....hey, ...uh, ... I thought that was sealed from the factory.....what is this all about? I start praying. She goes over to some higher up, the lady had more medals on her nametag, and they have a quiet discussion with their backs to me. The clerk walks back over and says, "the games are missing". WOW!!! I was shocked and without words. Then, I'm thanking God because she gives me the full refund anyway. I say, so its best to check the entire contents before you buy it ? She grunts out yeah. Hey friends, please be careful out there...........

Man that sucks, at least you got your money back. Good thing you didn't open it either, or else they wouldn't have believed you. Keep up the good work, your 360 will get back to you in no time lol.

I was just wondering if there is such a thing as a factory seal ? I think walmart may have taken this box back from someone & put their "own" seal on it....

Have heard of people switching xboxs and bringing the box back. Feel bad for the people who have gotten screwed over by this.

I never buy anything from Wal-Mart without first thoroughly checking that it's either sealed *very well* with no signs of tampering. Actually, I've only bought 1 thing from them in recent memory and that's because I had a big gift card there. Of course, I returned that thing and got cash back, but that's a different story. ;)

the retail stores were send copies of the 2 in 1 games to put in the older stock. most of them had to be open by the store

What he said. We got a memo stating how to open it, put new stickers on it, reseal it, etc.

I did it the cheapass way.. I just handed them out whenever someone bought the system :D

well not to say that anyone here would do this but if thats true, judging from my experience with shady game store people, then a lot of them just got free copies of Forza/Marvel.

especially if they are doing it the Cheapass way... because I remember when I was working at gamecrazy one of the guys at a different store got fired because everytime he was supposed to give at any preorder gift or coupon sheet he would put it off to the side for himself.

Again, Shady, and eveyone else on here that works in retail not pointing fingers but this really makes you wonder.

Friends, what I really want to get across is that If you are out there buying your 360 and you look at the outer box & all there is a clear circular sticky holding the box "sealed" then buyer beware....

That's how they all come.
Am I the only one who doesn't understand what the OP is saying?
No, he confused the hell out of me as well. Both my Xbox 360, as well as my brother's Xbox 360 only had a round circular seal. The original Xbox had the same seal. Now, I understand if he is saying to check to make sure that seal is intact, but he seems to be telling people to avoid consoles with that seal. Just make sure the seal isn't tampered with and hold on to your receipt. I guess that some places were told (like Scorch said) to open them, put in the free games, and then reseal them. I'm going to assume that particular store put the stickers on the box but never put the free games inside. The seal is a good thing I tell ya!

I ordered an elite from amazon.com during the summer. I was about to open it but noticed the original clear factory seal was cut open then re-sealed with another clear circular sticker.

Wait, what?
Maybe it's too early for me, but yikes! That was really headache inducing..

The story goes from Wal-Mart.. to home.. to back at Wal-Mart? Overall I get the point of the story..but what a painful story that was.

My apologizes for the confusion. To clarify: the xbox did have the advertising for the 2 free games, but the games were not in the box. I was thinking that the seal on my 1st box was bigger.
According to another poster, it is possible that this was an earlier box which was supposed to be opened & the games inserted when the advertising label for the 2 free games was applied. The seal looked intact to me so this is what must have happened. The warning should be : It may say 2 free games inside, but at your Walmart, this may not be true.
