I picked up a copy of Skies of Arcadia player's guide at a Salvation Army store . . . for 50 cents. . .

I remembered people saying something about its value . . . but none have sold on ebay for over a month . . . at Amazon a seller has it for $95

http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/t...104-9395644-0198354?v=glance&s=books&n=507846

Half.com has if for $70 . . .

WTF . . .

I guess I would put it out on ebay and find out . . . it is new condition except for a creased corner on the back.
Does anyone else find it absolutely rediculous what game guides can go for these days?
I agree but at the same time if I can get Steel Battalion for selling 3 or 4 copies of the Suikoden II strategy guide, who am I hurting?

I *really* liked the gamespot downloadable SoA guide. It was a lot of work, very complete. I wonder if I still have it for a replay.
I don't think I've ever bought a guide, and I sure wouldn't pay 70 bucks for one.
But an item is worth whatever someone will pay for it, I guess....

You can't go by half.com. That's just the price someone WANTS for it, and we all know something is only worth as much as someone is willing to pay.

Speaking of guides, does the official Xenogears guide carry any value?

People usually price stuff higher on half.com than it typically sells for on eBay, especially if it's out of print. I think maybe they figure if someone's looking for it for a gift, they're gonna pay whatever they need to to get it quick.

ViolentLee, I don't know what it's worth, but I'm interested in it. Feel free to check my list in my signature and PM me an offer.

Same with sellers on Amazon. They can put $200 on the guide, and it will sit there forever until there's either someone who's stupid enough to pay for it or he lowers the price.

The only way you'll know how much it's worth is to keep your eye on ebay.

I've seen them go from MSRP to about 45 bucks or more. Depends on the ocndition I would say. It's out of print, so it depends on how bad the person wants it.

I wouldn't mind buying the guide, but I'd only be willing to offer like 20$ or so and I doubt that's enough to get anyone to part with the guide

The guide closed at $50.00 . . . and paypal payment has been paid!!!!

Holy SH*T . . . I thought I had something sellable at the resale shop, but no idea that I'd get a good $45.00 profit on my .50 investment.

Where can I find a list of rare strategy guides and how much they go for? My b/f has a bunch of old ones, like Street Fighter 2 for SNES, the 7th Guest, Paper Mario, Resident Evil for PS1, and many others.

HI HO HI HO, EBAY HERE I GO!!!

There were runner-up bidders of $47 and $49. So there is more cash out there! Who knows, your's may go higher.

I did a 10-day auction to troll the longest.
