For those of you who haven't visited, PenguinUnited carries some pretty spiffy accessories. Well, I assume they're spiffy, I've only ordered their 24 pk DS card pouch...

Fellow CAGer dyreschlock posted a nice review of the case with some good pics:
http://www.theschlock.com/blog/?p=123

And fellow CAGer Strell has nice things to say about it...
Indeed. This thing works very nicely, I must say. I'd venture to say it holds them a little too snugly, but that's being overly picky.

The only complaint I have is that the back most page is oriented differently, but this is like complaining "the fourth apple I got had a stem on it, and the others didn't."

It really is a nice little case. Zips shut, holds 24 games in a small space, looks stylish, and has a cute little penguin logo that my gf likes. I might get 2 more at some point (yes, I am a nerd with that many games).

Anyway, really recommend it if you can pay a slight premium on something like a games case.
I'm not sure what he's talking about the back page... both of the ones I ordered were fine.

Anywhoo, onto the deal. I finally broke down and ordered a pair of these the other day (after failing to find a coupon anywhere). Once I received them in the mail, I immedatly noticed that they were very high quality. I posted on another forum about them and shot an e-mail off to the nice folks at PenguinUnited.com thanking them for the awesome merchandise, mentioning my SPAM post and asking if they had a coupon code they'd like me to hand out as well.

They hooked me up with the coupon code: 'thankyoufrompenguin'. It gives you 12% off your order (pre-shipping). These cases are a deal at $10 and a steal at $8.80.

Ordered Wednesday, arrived Saturday. I like it a lot. It's a very nice little case. Everyone keeps saying it's smaller than they thought it would be. Well, I felt the same way when I opened mine. If I were a girl (or European) I'd keep it in my purse!
If I were a girl (or European) I'd keep it in my purse!
I ordered 2 and got them today. Customer service was a little spotty. I ordered on Tuesday before noon tried to call customer on Thursday to find out when they had shipped but only got an answering machine. :cold: I sent an email that day becasue the order status had not changed from when I had ordered it. I got an email on Friday to say that it should get to me Friday or Saturday. I did seem to take too long from Northern CA to Sol Cal considering I paid extra for Priority shipping.

They are much smaller than I thought (A good thing). The only minor gripe is that the plastic sleeves sticks together and is a little hard get the cards out. But by far the best storage for a lot of DS cards.

I would give an A- for the product and a C- for shipping and customer service.

Got mine today. Really like it. No issues with the zipper like some other users have had. Also...the complaint about the pages seems unwarranted. The first time I used the case I just stuck my index finger into each pocket, moved it around, then put my games in. Haven't had any trouble getting them in or out...It's too bad I doubt I'll ever get past the first page.

Really quick shipping too I might add.

Got my case in the other day. I like it so far. Only complain is that some of the individual compartments don't seem to have sealed completely so it results in 2 openings that the cart could fall out of.

Still, it's good enough that I'm ordering another one.

Sounds like your pages may be defective - I'd get in contact with them to see if they'll send you a replacement.

Got mine in today, however it isn't the CAG one I ordered on the 8th of August. Bummed out about it, but have emailed customer support (funny how quite a few people have received the wrong versions; need to train the shipping monkeys better!). On the upside, the zipper seems to work well. Also, I've learned my lesson; I will NOT use paypal with them again; it took a total of 12 days from date ordered to date arrived, and it seemed that 6 days was for paypal to send them an e-check (e-check, WTF?? thought paypal was instantaneous payment?! Has been for me everywhere else).

Well it depends how you do it. If you have funds in your paypal account, it is instantaneous, otherwise if the money is in your bank account, an e-check is issued and most companies wait for them to clear before sending your product.

:whistle2:s

I've paid via bank account, and it sends money from my account to Paypal and from Paypal to the recipient instantly.

That's what I did.

I was very surprised when my case arrived in two days. Then I checked the return address and they are based in the city I live in. Hell, they are even in my same ZIP code. I seriously could have picked it up. Kinda got pwned on shipping, but hey, you gotta be fair to everyone and charge everyone shipping.

The case is great! I finally have a place to put all of my games and it keeps it portable. Very happy with my purchase.:D

I'm considering getting one of these.

I have a carrying case for my two DSs, but nothing for the actual cases themselves.

But, I only have a handful of DS games, but I am still REALLY tempted...

EDIT: Has anyone tried the silicon jacket? I'm considering getting one or two, just so the wife and I can tell our DSs apart...

I've paid several times with paypal with it deducting from my bank account instantaneously; and even if there would be a problem there I have a credit card on file to back it up, so that doesn't seem quite right - but hell it happened, so who knows.

if you call customer support autche they will gladly switch the product for you and i dont like paypal for that same reason takes too long just entered a credit card and boom it was here. as far as the wrong one getting shipped it was explained earlier that the opened a box and sawa few were of one product and assumed the whole box was one or the other and apparently they were so if anyone recieved the wrong one richard has said numerous time on CAG to just contact customer support and they fix the problem. these guys really make sure you are happy. unike most companies out there who as soon as they have your money dont give a crap.

Got it today. Very slick little case. A friend of mine saw it and described it as cute. I asked why and she said she liked the penguin and the blue trim. I said, "Blue?" Then I looked more closely and it does have a tint of blue in it which sways the gray to that spectrum. I promptly took a black Sharpie and tinted it black. White/black is a pretty nice combo. Perhaps you could offer one in that combo sometime, or even better black/white trim. Thanks.

So you just used a black sharpie? The guy who first did it said black Sharpies have a slight red tint, which I do see as well. I was also looking at the pleather type deal...it doesn't look like it would soak up ink very well, but I guess that's just how it looks. I'm about to do the same, but I'm afraid I'm gonna wreck the thing. I'm not very crafty.

I haven't looked too closely at it to see the red tint, but it looks black enough to me. The outer edge piping actually colors well as the Sharpie goes on evenly. It's the two accent pieces that I had a hard time getting an even looking finish. The ink dries so fast, it's hard to get a uniform looking finish, so there's a very faint dry/wet spot marking, but it's only evident if you're really staring at it.

Did you tape any newspaper or anything to avoid getting any ink on the white portion of the case?

It's not streaky looking is it? Sorry for all the Qs. The gray does look girly to me so I'd like to man it up a bit.

The trim is raised up pretty well and using the fatter Sharpie, it had a finer point so it didn't have much run off unless your hands are really shaky. Just put it down on a flat surface and use short strokes on the piping part. It's the two accent pieces that are a bit tougher to get an even finish. Mine is a bit streaky there, but I only did one coating. The piping on the edges takes to the coloring a bit better. Just be careful when you go around and in towards the zipper. If you get any coloring on the zipper itself, it'll tend to bleed through to the inside and splotch it up. It's not very noticeable, but it'll be there.

Thanks animal; if I don't hear back from the email I sent to customer service I'll probably give them a ring. It is great to hear that this company believes in customer service, as that is something of a dying breed nowadays. I'm not upset or anything about the mixup, it is a minor letdown at most (same quality/appearance minus 3 green letters). Kinda like asking for a coke at the restraunt and having them give you a pepsi; damn near the same thing and not enough of a difference for me to start bitchin' ;)

If you want a more permanent color solution, you might try some Vinyl Dye. It bonds with the material, so the color won't peel away, chip, or rub off.

BTW, in for the CAG edition.

Well, when I got it the box it came in was open, there was a tiny gash on the fake leather part, and one of the plastic holders was already ripped. Seems pretty cheap to me.
still hoping for PSP game holder...........
Me too, but here's what I've been looking at recently:

And because I only have 3 games (getting either a black or white psp soon):

Edit: :applause:That's genius, somehow either this site or amazon posted some pics and auto-added the cag referrals.:applause:

If they could make a PSP case that holds 16 games (like therapists's top one but twice as tall), that'd be so nice...

I already have two of those full. To fit my latest purchases I need at least two more.

What if we start a new thread requesting that Penguin Unlimited make a PSP UMD case? If we showed enough demand, they might go ahead and bite. Does anyone agree?

My case arrived yesterday, but it has a silver metal tab on the back part bottom corner near the spine.

I don't see it in the review photos.
I am really thinking about getting another case despite the fact the one I have now is only half full....
That's only natural. This case is just that sexy.

Mine has it. It just covers the seam.

Hmmm, I don't see the option to add the 'CAG' to the case anymore, or am I just blind? I was finally gonna order a couple of these too...but I wanted one to be a CAG one. :(

Got mine yesterday, smaller than I expected, but surprisingly satisfying. The CAG mark is a little off, but its purpose isnt the style. And the mfingly cute penguin makes up for it

I just received my case but it doesn't have the CAG logo.
I used the link in the first post and the cagexlusive code.
Was there something else I was supposed to do to get the CAG logoed one?
