UPDATE: CAG case now in-stock
Use coupon code: cagexclusive

For those of you who haven't visited, PenguinUnited carries some pretty spiffy accessories. Well, I assume they're spiffy, I've only ordered their 24 pk DS card pouch...

Fellow CAGer dyreschlock posted a nice review of the case with some good pics:
http://www.theschlock.com/blog/?p=123

And fellow CAGer Strell has nice things to say about it...
Indeed. This thing works very nicely, I must say. I'd venture to say it holds them a little too snugly, but that's being overly picky.

The only complaint I have is that the back most page is oriented differently, but this is like complaining "the fourth apple I got had a stem on it, and the others didn't."

It really is a nice little case. Zips shut, holds 24 games in a small space, looks stylish, and has a cute little penguin logo that my gf likes. I might get 2 more at some point (yes, I am a nerd with that many games).

Anyway, really recommend it if you can pay a slight premium on something like a games case.
I'm not sure what he's talking about the back page... both of the ones I ordered were fine.

Anywhoo, onto the deal. I finally broke down and ordered a pair of these the other day (after failing to find a coupon anywhere). Once I received them in the mail, I immedatly noticed that they were very high quality. I posted on another forum about them and shot an e-mail off to the nice folks at PenguinUnited.com thanking them for the awesome merchandise, mentioning my SPAM post and asking if they had a coupon code they'd like me to hand out as well.

They hooked me up with the coupon code: 'thankyoufrompenguin'. It gives you 12% off your order (pre-shipping). These cases are a deal at $10 and a steal at $8.80.
Got this response via e-mail when I inquired about whether they would be coming back in stock:

"We still have few in stock, please buy it soon, we probably will stop make this product after it sold out."

I then put in my order for two red ones...
When did you get that e-mail? I've been trying to order one for the past couple days but no dice yet...

I'd also like to add in that this is definitely a great case, even better for the price! Hopefully they'll still be in stock when I get a second one, and that they'll continue making these as well.

Considering the large number of more expensive/not as good storage options and accessories for DS games, its refreshing to have a products available that aren't just cheaply made trash :)

Just wanted to throw my 2 cents in. I would buy 2 or 3 of these cases if you make more. I have been looking for a good multi-game case to hold my collection off and on for months and haven't found anything. Like others here, I sat on the fence not realizing it was a limited run.

Please make more. I think we can sell close to 200 on CAG alone.

Glad to know I could give just a wee bit back to the CAG community.

These cases are awesome (thanks to the two I mentioned in the OP who pointed me to the cases to begin with). Hopefully, they'll make some more of these cases because the way my DS collection is going, I'm going to need a third one...

Got mine today; I was expecting it to look cheap but it looks pricier than it is. Nice case, if I had more than 40 games I'd consider buying a 2nd.
Hi Guys, This is Richard over at Penguin United. First I like to thank everyone at CAG - over the past few days, our pouches have been selling really well. I talked to Uncle Bob about the shortage of grey pouches:

To add on to this email - We believe in the value of this product, but it is risky for us to produce more because it has been difficult for us to push volumn of these products to the distributors or retailers because most of these guys don't see the point of this product. The pouches has not been selling well prior to people posting about it i the gaming community. But for the past couple of days, it has been great. I think since it is new, people have to know about it for it to be successful.

So right now we are still not sure if we are going to keep this product... I wil keep everyone updated.
Richard, you're missing a great opportunity if you don't produce more of these. There is a real dearth of quality game cases for handhelds. As you can see, one review (not spam or viral) and you sell out, without having to cajole B&M retailers. Produce more, let online communities like CAG and NeoGAF know they're available, and you'll be surprised how many you sell. Good luck and great product.

It probably isn't necessary to post this, but heres an email I was sent from Richard at PU:

As for the gamecard cases, unfortuntatly we are in the process of discountinuing this product as it is hard for the retailers to understand the benifit of this product, since they feel people "don't buy that much games".

Of course we are still evaluating this and maybe we will produce another 500 units or so to retry the market.

Hopefully they do reconsider discontinuing the game case as anyone who has bought one can attest to how awesome it is and are already considering purchasing a 2nd or 3rd. It would be a shame since their case easily beats most thrid and first party storage options in both price and usability, which is all a CAG could ask for really.

Anyway, just figured I share what was sent to me, heres hoping that any CAGs/gamers that haven't already can get their hands on one if they do plan to produce more.

i too just found out about this...i would have bought 2-3 right now had they been in stock. i have about 40 games already. The third would have been forward thinking.

Please, please PU make more. You can see people on sites like CAG are wanting to buy multiples of this product.

Maybe we all should start sending them e-mails asking them to continue making this product.

Only DS Game holders I've ever seen are those plastic funky ones that aren't too travel friendly as the PU DS holder

Darn, I realized I bought two and could have easily bought 2 more. I don't even have enough for all the DS games already in my house, much less what I'll end up with by the end of the year. Damn CAG, and my backlog of games.

I like the list idea.
It would at least show them how many they can potentially sell immediately and they can adjust another run accordingly.

A list of names with how many we want and what color would probably look nicer then 200 random emails saying I want some!

I was going to buy one for me, one for my sister, and one for my cousin. I only have about 6 games, but I obtained all 6 in one week, so really, I will need more than one for the future.

Maybe I'll just cycle my 24 games. However, I know my sister really wanted one. Oh well. If they make more, I will definatly buy another. Maybe we can beg Cheapy to make an affiliation with them :)
So if people are happy with the list idea, how should we set it up? I was thinking of making a new thread and have people say how many cases they'd want to buy but since it wouldn't be posting a deal...guess I'll have to poke Shrike to see if it's ok. Other than that do you guys have any other ideas?
Make a new thread in the Deal Discussions or Request a VGD forum, and then PM the guy who said he was from PenguinUnited a link to the thread.

I'm in as well for 4 - 5 if they make some more. Saw the other thread about these cases too late and they were out of stock by the time I went to order.

Prefer the Grey over the red but if they made a bunch of different colors, I'd get 1 of each to help keep track of games better.

I'm in for a minimum of 4. My friends would love these and I'm usually the only person that buys stuff off the internet. More colors would be sweet too.

Since I have a grey one already, I'm definitely in for at least 1 red one for myself. But will probably buy ahead and pick up two more just incase my backlog of DS grows even more (no thanks to cheapassgamer ). I already have a few friends/famliy members that are wanting this as well after seeing mine.

I just received the 2 I ordered, and I would like to order 2 more. Plus they need to release the same case for PSP games. >:)

I'd get at least 2 more any color. I already ordered 2. Just to be clear, I'm looking at the same price or very close to what I paid before.

Well, the coupon code still works, if y'all see something else on there you want to order...

Additionally, In the interest of full disclosure, I feel that I should mention that after I spammed here on CAG and NintendoWorldReport.com, I did get another e-mail from PU letting me know that they refunded my PayPal payment as thanks for selling so many of their cases. I didn't ask for that and wasn't expecting it and it has in no way effected my judgement on the quality of the cases (although it has potentially effected my judgement on the quality of the company as a whole - they rock! ;) Again, I got the refund after I initially spammed everyone about them and the free stuff has nothing to do with why I'm telling y'all to buy these cases (not that you can buy them right now anyway...)

I personally would buy at least three, and I know a couple other people who would buy at least 4 or 5.

In other words, I've got three people here would would definitly buy a minimum of 11 of the things.

I'll pick up one Red and one Grey. I like diversity :)

This case should dominate if it ever goes into retail stores :)

Hey, OP, you should include something about a petition/demand in the thread title or something to that effect

I read about this case on another blog, and didn't think much about it. But, now after looking at the case again, I reconsidered, and it's a great way to store games when you're low on shelf space (I can put my DS cases away somewhere else in a box).

I'm up for at least 2 of them (I don't care about the color either...even if the only remaining color is pink...lol :D)

I just found out about these to find they're out of stock, then to have my desire for one obliterated when I heard they wouldn't be making any. I only need 1, but I'll probably buy 2 if they're gonna be somewhat limited.

Your advertising has paid off. I PM'ed the guy from PU and he replied back today saying that he will most likely order more cases because of the demand and other CAGs PM'ing him as well. Woot!

Awesome news! I'll definitely be waiting to order more. Any word on when by chance?

My GF has been asking me for a case for her ever growing DS collection...
I'll need AT least 2 of this, but most likely getting 3 or 4 (for my bro too).

Please make more!!! :).

Geeze,
this is what I get for staying at the trading forums for most of my time...
I just found this out...

Like so many others - I would have ordered already if they had some instock!

Hopefully we'll see that 'add to cart' button sometime soon!! :).

As of this post, there's a total of a MINIMUM of 47 cases asked for.

Personally I would love to see a darker color (blue or black), but the too-light gray would be acceptable.

I suppose I'll partake of the best. case. ever.

+1 = 48 total requested from CAG.

Methinks Cheapy should just request a custom-made order with them for 100 and add them to the CAGStore. Maybe then I'd finally break down and buy a CAGshirt, too.
