volume 2, 4, 5 are $6.99, 3 is $9.99, and 6 is $11.99 in-store. online prices are $10-20. since it's BB, i believe it's nationwide prices

dont know about vol.1 though, while the boxset+vol.1 is $30.99

Phantomer when did you see the prices ? I know the prices changes alot on bb but the ones on line most time are the ones in B&M but then again who knows. If they changed I might wait for the next drop before getting it. Might go for vol 2 for 7. Dr Mario Kart did you have any trouble getting it for that price ?

FYI - BB prices online for 2 is 6.99, 3-5 is 10 and 5 is 20.

If you wanted vol. 1 w/ Artbox just wait for Rightstuf.com weekly special. I remembered last time they have vol. 1 w/ Artbox $14.99 - $19.99 :)

the prices were right, I had to go to two stores because the first one didnt have vol 3. Thanks OP. I've had this in my DDD wishlist forever, patiently waiting a sale. Now I just need vol. 1 with box.

vol.3 was actually on sale for like $10~ few months ago while other volumes were still $20~. i thought it was weird. maybe that's why 1 of your BB sold out vol.3.

btw, boxes say original japanese with subtitle available

also, what do b&m and OP stand for?

B&M is the store as what you walk in to (brick and mortar Sorry if this is not right). OP is the original poster. Anyways i hope these prices stay in till the week end as its is when I get paid. Thx for the info OP

I personally like Osaka's "southern accent" in the dub, seeing as how her accent is different in the show anyways.

Close, but what Osaka speaks is "oosaka-ben" or the Osaka dialect. So there are three differences between "oosaka-ben" and standard Japanese. The first is in syntax, the second is of a grammatical nature, the third concerns vocab.

IMO, I think oosaka-ben sounds pretty odd. But then again, the only exposure I have of it is from Azumanga. I'm pretty interested in learning Kansai-ben, for those of you who know what I'm talking about. "Chau chau!"

After living in Nagasaki for almost half a year, I can confirm with absolute certainty that Nagasaki-ben is the strangest dialect of all. I have yet to hear it used in anime, however...

I think the words you are looking for are, "Pika, Pika."

"Ganbaranba," actually. Strangeness...

Vol. 1 + Box is $13.99 at advfilms.com. I got my vol 2-6 yesterday, and then came home to see just how much Vol 1 + box was, and it was apparently on sale there, so I got that too.

One thing, is the label on Vol. 3 that it comes with a pin a misprint? On mine, the plastic was loose, and no pin inside. I had to get that one at a different BB than the others, so I don't know if that BB's employees are crooked.

OK just wondering if this series is going to be in a boxset like what they did with FMP. Any ideas on it ?? In total it would seen that the whole series of Azumanga would be 43$ + tax and 14$+ shipping from ADV. For me it would be ~70$ and I was wondering if anyone thinks they will make the boxset?

O yeah are the pins really worth the trouble ?

If the other ADV thinpak collections such as Noir, Full Metal Panic, and Rahxephon are an indication, I'd figure the lowest price you can find them online is ~$55. I'd rather have all of Azu Manga now for $15 more with the pins, booklets, anything else they left out of the thinpak collections then wait who knows if, or how long, they'll release a set.

Guess that is a good point as the dvds do have the 12 page info. I like the thin-pads but Hmmm to wait and find out or not. 70$ for a full anime series seems kinda normal but then again it has not been released as a full boxset. Anyways anyone know the cheapest B&M price for Azumanga 1 + box?

The best price I found was $24 at deepdiscountdvd.com.

I just got a copy of Vol 3, and it also did not have a pin. I picked up Vol 5 at the same time, and that one did.

Does anyone know if all of the Azumanga DVDs had pins, or if not, which ones did? I kind of want to know if I should return this to BB.

Only vol 3, 5, 6 had pins. I'm most likely gonna wait till the DDD 20% sale to buy the box there.

Managed to pick up Volumes 2, 4, 5, and 6. Such a great series.

Also got the Steel Angel Kurumi Complete Set for $23.

All in all, spent about $53 for two almost complete sets.

Thank OP!

So Vol 3 did have a pin? Do you think that BB would let me exchange the copy I got (without a pin) for one that does?

Not if you already opened it.

Well, obviously I opened it. Otherwise, I wouldn't know if it had a pin or not.

I assume they have to take let me exchange it for another one, since it was not complete. I mean, if the DVD wasn't in the case, they would still let you exchange it, right?

your case said the pin was encloses? I assume that would count as defective. Hopefully your best buy still has copies to exchange for....

I got volumes 2-6 at Bestbuy for $46 today, now I'm looking for the best deal on the box w/ volume 1 also.. I guess I'll wait until someone has a sale.
