I've seen a couple people post in other threads saying BB might have some Wii systems for sale tomorrow. Anyone hear of stores getting any last minute Wii systems to sell on Christmas Eve? If so can any employees of B&M stores confirm this?

Gone. You will be lucky now to find one before Christmas. Too bad you missed the 30 other opportunities that presented themselves in the past month to get one.

A simple no would have been just fine. - Billy Madison

On topic though, no. I here some rumors of 12/24 shipments, but dont put money on it. Ebay might be your only choice.

I tried 4 times before this weekend to get a system but came up short each time (The most any of our stores here in KC got was 24 at a time). I have a craptacular TRU bundle on order but it probably won't arrive until mid week. If I happened to get one B&M before Christmas I would cancel my online order. If not I'll deal with the bundle when it gets here.

No need to be an asshole in your response. I heard some rumors so I thought I would ask around.

I really hope that there will be some available for purchase on Sunday, but in reality there probably won't be any until maybe a week or two after Christmas at the very earliest.
He wasnt being an ass. Hes telling you how it is. Its the facts.
You're right he was presenting the facts but it's all in the tone and delivery. He was more or less saying I just sat around waiting until this weekend then out of nowhere posted this asking where I could find a Wii. We all know how limited they are. Many of us have tried several times to get them and failed (I waited in line as long as I could on several occasions and still missed out).

he was being an ass while delivering the facts.

God I hope not. I have to do some last minute X-mas shopping tomorrow and plan on going at like 7 AM to shop "in comfort". But that will be futile if there are 1000 people standing on line trying to get a Wii.

I'm trying to figure out if there will be any more B&M stores selling Wii tomorrow as well.

I called my local Circuit City today. A number of employees have said numerous things including:
1) We'll get them on Sunday.
2) We have no idea.
3) They aren't in the system, but that's because they are shipped overnight, so we don't know if we have systems until they come in.

I plan on calling again later on to see if they have any more concrete information. I'm also going to call numerous other stores around my area.

Just like everyone who is going out tomorrow to go Christmas shopping...procrastinators. Many options were available to get a Wii before Christmas. Many. TRU has had MANY shipments, most have had several days notice right here on CAG about them. If you have been trying for a month to get a Wii and have not, you are not trying very hard. Had you REALLY wanted one you would have been at TRU 5-8 hours early to get one.

Well I wanted (want) one but there's only so far I could go to get one. I arrived 3 hrs early or more the last 3 times I waited in line. The most recent I was 9th in line and the frickin' store got 6. I couldn't camp out all night due to work (really wouldn't be a good idea to get a Wii but get fired). I ordered a system online several times as well but I must not have been quick enough with the checkout because all my orders were later canceled due to lack of stock.

So in summation you are completely wrong on your ASSumtion (notice the emphasis on ASS). I am not just a lazy procrastinator that waited to long to get a Wii. I waited in line as long as I could every opportunity I got. Since it's now the weekend and I am off work I have more time. More time means that if I happened to get lucky and there was a last minute Wii shipment I would get there early enough to ensure I could buy one.

A whole 3 hours? Thats not long enough to secure one the HOTTEST Christmas items this year. Notice the RED? Why not go on Craigslist and spend the extra $100 to get it off someone?

i hope some large retail chains will get a wii tomorrow. My firend, who is one of those last minute shoppers, out of the blue ask me can i get him one for his son.I was like wtf?why now?

I don't want to wait those long lines in the Nintendo Store.I guess i have to take the easy way out and purchase a $500 Wii bundle(wii with 2 wii games and 3 gamecube games) in mom and pop store or I can fuck them by not geting them the wii.

Because we are all cheapasses, fool.

You are on CAG.com, spending an extra $100 would be pretty extreme.

I am happy to wait a month or two for a wii. At worst, I may be able to snag a used zelda or something by then. I have plenty of xbox and NGC games I haven't finished yet, so a Wii would just add to the list of things I wish I had time to play.

Dude, chill out. Sometimes people have this thing called life getting in the way of standing in line for the Wii. You're being accusatory towards people rather offering any help and adding nothing more to the thread than, "Well it's your own damn fault!".

i could nto agree more except the fact of an extra 100 bucks if he wanted to waste extra money he would have bought one on ebay

i waited 15 hrs infront of best buy on launch day. i have no sympathy for you there has been many chances to get one. someone said u did not try hard. well i sorta agree. when i went to gamestop on friday there was over 30 people waiting to see if they got any in that is how you need to do it. sorry for being a dick but there has been many chances and you either were late or made no attempt

Or a third option is I made as much of an attempt as I could every chance I got (sometimes went straight from work and got in line). Goofy little things like "life" and "work" got in the way of being able to do an overnight camp. If I had the time I would've done that because I know how rare the systems are.

What's up with all the hate. It's Christmas Eve, can't we all just get along? :)

The thing is, there are tons of people RIGHT NOW rushing around trying to find a Wii. I can't feel sorry for people who chose to wait till the last minute to get something that is already impossible to find. I wish I could follow around some of these Soccer moms as they get the 'No, we sold out hours/days/weeks ago' at every stop.

People here REALLY need to stop using the whole 'this is cheapassgamer, we are cheap' as an excuse for everything. This site has grown a hell of a lot in the past 2 years to focus more on the games themselves, news, etc. instead of JUST deals. I don't visit this place for the deals as much as the discussions. If you want a Wii bad enough before February or March, spend the extra $100.

You are truly an idiot. Obviously you know soccer moms have kids. Obviously you know they probably have a husband who works. So you expect them to hire a babysitter while they go camp out for 15 hours? You are clueless. Not everyone has the time for a 15 hour camp out like you apparently do. Once you grow up a little bit, you will find out there are things called "responsibilities", and camping out for a WII falls towards the bottom of that list. That doesn't mean these people are any less deserving of one than you are, it just means they have other priorities besides camping out.

By the way, do you have Kids? I would guess no. Once you do, you will understand the need to rush around at the last minute for something they really want, but you haven't been able to find. Even if there is a very very slight chance that you can find it.

i got 10 wiis today at Toys R US, Bestbuy, Circuit City, Target, Compusa. Then i went back in to the store to get 10. WOOOT.

(sarcastic)

Well, I really wanted one for my kid, waited in line for 6 hours out in front of Best Buy in the freezing cold, and still didn't get one. I also made many calls and trips to all the various stores over the past four weeks with no luck. Some of us have jobs and families and can't devote our entire life to finding the damn console. If you got one, congratulations. Now stop being an ass.

I've been looking for a Wii for quite some time now, but I haven't been able to get one because I live in a small town and no store here got a shipment of them.

Over the past week I've found five for friends and family. Its all about timing and reading CAG. Everytime I bought one it was because of a thread here.
You probably won't et it, but there is no need to be so nasty. You don't know what that guy's life is like.. Work or whatever. Why not just answer and be done? Or do you think it's KEWL to be obnoxious?

Yes, I know soccer moms have kids. I see the giant vans all over the road with the stupid stickers showing that they have kids. An easy $100 and they could have had a Wii. Right now on CL I am seeing Wii's selling for $350-$400. After tax a Wii is about $280. So is $100 extra dollars not to drive around a huge fucking van with 3 brats worth it? Yeah, I would think so. But there are not too many 'smart' soccer moms out there who could figure this out. Intead they feel the need to walk right up to the front of the line, ask the same question that has been asked 500 times that day, and get pissed when the store is sold out.

No, I have no kids. I'm not stupid enough to get someone knocked up at a young age unlike some people in my wonderful state. That is exactly why I am able to get a Wii, and anything else I choose. I have a job, I have priorities. I was still able to secure a Wii just fine, and could have again and again at the NUMEROUS opportunities that presented themselves over the past month.

I have totally agree with most of gizmogc points on obtaining Wii's.I understand some parents have to work long hours and don't have much free time waiting in long lines just for a chance to obtain a wii,it's not worth it considering the amount of competition you have to compete.Wii are hot ticket item that sells out instantly once the store opens.

Gizmogc is trying to prove that parents shouldn't work hard for it,but work smart for it.Considering you just wasted 9 hours waiting in line that's about $54 pay in minimum wage, not to mention transportation cost, stress and anixety that's cause by it,daycare,tax,etc,etc...Figure all those things put togethor,it seem kinda of worth it paying the extra $100.Today,I paid extra $75 for a Wii to give as gift.I didn't regret it one bit
Everyone just stop trying to justify your case, you're not convincing anyone of anything.
You're absolutely right. Besides gizmogc proved his ignorance 3 times over in this thread. The purpose of this thread was not for some ignorant punk to criticize myself and others inquiring about Christmas Eve Wii sales, it was merely an attempt to verify rumors with those on the inside (store employees).

Just because we have a life or a family that take a higher priority over a system launch camp out doesn't mean we're morons.

You camped out for 15 hrs and got a Wii well congratulations. I wasn't able to get one and I spent as much time as I could waiting in line for one. Obviously it wasn't enough. Oh well life goes on.

I hope you enjoy that system and have a Merry Christmas. Just keep in mind for future reference that making blanket generalizations based on few facts is not only ignorant, it makes you look stupid.

Just because I don't have a 'family' does not mean I would be able to walk into a store and get one. Like I said before, I have a job, I have rent, car payments, bills. I was still able to secure one. I'm assuming you have a wife, right? Could she have not 'watched' the children (while they slept) while you get a Wii at 7am at the numerous opportunities in the past month?

Camped out? No, i'm not a fucking moron. I PRE-ORDERED mine. Ya know, the thing all game stores bug you to do. I waited in line at Toys R US 3 hours before launch just because I wanted one right away. I even got a ticket to purchase an additional unit and sold it to a father for $100. Do I feel bad? Nope. I waited in line, and he showed up 30 minutes after opening.

It really sucks you decided to start a thread the day before Christmas asking where to get the hottest toy of the year. The ONLY answer right now is Craigslist. You waited to long for ebay. I have been enjoying my Wii since launch, as well as many other people who waited for it.

just came back from target in the bay area....wiis & accesories got unloaded off the trucks 'bout 30mins ago. and amazon was selling remotes and nunchucks as of 3am.

Stopped by a few stores last night and this morning, most had lots of accessories, especially the hard-to-find Wii Remote and Nunchuk.

Unfortunately, stores did not have any Wii systems.

yeah, well the thing is that nobody is asking you to feel sorry for anybody. they're asking for help. why don't you just STFU if you don't want to help. miserable SOB!

people cool it. seriously it's christmas. was. still it's the holidays and some people are being coldhearted dickheads. i got my wii on the following tuesday after launch by sheer luck. after calling 60 gamestops, and driving to an obscure one an hour away, i got one before closing time. honestly i feel grateful but i do feel the woe of those cant get one. my girlfriend was going to buy one for her dad for xmas, but could not find one in the end. if you're one of the few, the proud, and fortunate owners of the wii in 2006, don't thread on the ones who couldn't get one yet.

Well, maybe I can get some help rather than getting yelled at. Here goes...

Just found out yesterday that some dear friends of the family were looking for a Wii this Christmas for their son. He got a "We owe you one" present on Christmas eve, and I was bummed because through CAG I likely could have directed them to get one before Christmas if I had known. Oh well.

So, having gotten mine at launch, I'm fairly out of the know. What's the best chance to score one somewhat soon? Their son is a good friend of mine (in college, just engaged--not exactly a whiny 6 year old ;) ), so getting it NOW is not necessary, but getting it soon would be nice.

Any help or thoughts would be appreciated.

Thank guys! :)

Next Sunday is the next big day for big retailers, might have to camp. I'm sure some stores might get some through out the week so try like Gamestop and EB Games (which I am going to today [check the EB Games Ad thread in Video Game Deals]).
