Not sure for how long, but I can find that out today. Deal applies for used DVDs.

Trade 3 (or 4, depending on market) for a New Release or Upcoming still ongoing.

-Moviestop is located in the southeast and is part of the EB/GS family, but has nicer employees and much better trade-in values. :)

There were signs on the door of my local Movie Stop that said it was for yesterday only.

Also, mine just started allowing me to trade in 3, get something more than 19.99, then pay the difference. Got The Maltese Falcon 3 Disc for three garbage movies and $3.99. Not too bad.

Unless they changed this recently, Moviestop has been running this promotion for well over a year now. It still should be going on.

No, it's time to time. 2 for $15 and 3 for $20 are ongoing.

Unless your store has autonomy. But I'm on pretty good rappaport with the SM at mine, but didn't get a chance to talk to him yesterday.

So it's confirmed too that this trade 3 or 4 for a new release is still going on? What are the restrictions? I have a ton of movies I wouldn't mind dropping off there tommorrow to get a free X-Men 3.

I was told this is store policy, not a limited promotion. I was told it's not ending.

They have to be major studio releases with cover art. I buy DVDs at yard sales for $1-3, then trade them. I traded three Olsen Twins DVDs that I picked up at a yard sale for $3, then traded them yesterday w/$10 for the X-Men Trilogy.

As long as the movies qualify (I believe they have to get at least $1.50 trade-in value) and are complete and good condition, you can trade them in for anything on the New Release wall, or to get anything upcoming in their system. Value of $20 or less. Anything more, and you can pay the difference.

My store it's trade 4, but I've been told other stores are trade 3. I don't know why.

It's trade 3 get a new release or a pre-order at the Citrus Park Moviestop location. They just have to be major studio releases like WB, Sony, Paramount, New Line, etc. I'm surprised you didn't get in on this earlier. The employees there are pretty cool, and they leave their new releases on the wall for what seems like months so there is some decent selection to pick up. It sucks that the B2G1F was only one day. I really should've checked it out but there wasn't too much stuff I was looking to pick up anyways, so I guess I saved myself some money. Thanks, for the heads up anyways, CocheseUGA.

It must be YMMV then. Every Movie Stop I've seen in the Jax, FL area runs this promotion and have been running for the past year. Hell, the Gamestop employees across the street encourage you to use the 3 for 10 DVDs to take over to Movie Stop to boost their sales even though it probably hurts corporate.

Edit: The only studios that don't work I believe are Troma, Animeigo, Media Blasters, and whoever puts out the Asia Extreme line (along with the no name Wal Mart brands). ADV, Bandai, Artisan, Anchor Bay/Manga Entertainment, and Geneon all work last time I checked.

Oh, the only Moviestop around here is about 15 minutes off and I only went in once or twice and it was overpriced and smelled funny. Citrus Park is like an hour from me, I go to the one in Largo, but I'm never really over there.

Now that I know there is a promotion like this I'm going to have to head over there with some movies I'm not watching.

Thanks! Do most movies get $1.50 in trade-in credit?

Pretty much every major studio release works (For Example: Sony, MGM, Disney, Paramount, Fox, Universal, New Line, etc.). Unless you've picked up $1 DVD's at Target or Wal-Mart that your trying to get rid of, or some types of obscure anime, most everything will work. They just put the promo prices in for the 3 for 1 so I never know what the DVD's I've traded in go for credit wise. The Citrus Park one is fairly new and clean and the employees are generally nice and helpful.

Awesome, thanks a ton. I think I'll round up a few DVD's and head on down there tommorrow, as none of my stuff is part of the $1 Wal-Mart crap bin ;)

Since Movie Stop doesn't have a website, I was wondering where all the locations are. It seems that they're mostly in FL and GA.

Mine seems to be the furthest north, in Midlothian, VA, just outside of Richmond.

Yea, my moviestop wasnt doing this deal. Guess it was just for one day. However i found out that the Trade 3 deal goes for ANY dvd as long as its from a major studio/license (including anime - they have a list of all the studios/licenses, i didnt get down all the names though).

However they also told me that the item you order has to be Exactly $19.99 or less, you cant order something higher and pay the difference. IMO its a load of bull, its not like theyre really losing out on any money, they're still paying the $19.99.

Don't mean to bump an old thread, espicially with non-relevant info, but it's the only one I could find through the search.

Did anyone else's Moviestop change the Trade 4 / Get 1 new release free deal? The Moviestop I just traded into (in Largo) told me that it's now ONLY on DVD's that came out this week, or a pre-order... it's no longer for DVD's that came out a few weeks ago as well.

It wasn't a big deal, I traded a ton of shitty and scratched movies I had for Borat, Peter Pan, and Casino Royale, but the new rule caught me by surprise cause I was hoping to get Departed.

I went to Moviestop for the first time last week with some crappy DVDs. They told me it was only for new releases too, but they let me get The Departed since I had never traded there before. They also let me get the 2 disc version, though I had to pay the difference.

Yea, they told me I could get the 2 disc edition of Casino Royale and pay the difference... I preordered the regular one, because I didn't realize I'd have $5 in credit leftover from having an extra DVD that I guess they bumped up to $5.

They wouldn't budge for me on the new rule so I just preordered something, and that still works out fine. But it really limits what I can trade in since the only other movies to interest me that are coming out are Rocky Balboa and the director's cut of Payback.
