Back To The Future: 25th Anniversary Trilogy [Blu-Ray] - $49.96 @ Amazon

Good Find OP!!! I love the series, may just Pre-Order to lock in this price. I just think they should at least sell it for $40-45.

OMG fuck yeah! LinkinPrime, you're the best, totally made my day :)

love how the comments on Amazon are from the DVD release (had no idea there was a problem w/ widescreen versions) and doesn't really give any details except standard functional stuff that some blu rays may have.

Damn, that didn't take long from announcement to being pre-orderable.

As much as I'd like to jump on it early, I'm thinking that I need to wait on some reviews before sinking money into this.
love how the comments on Amazon are from the DVD release (had no idea there was a problem w/ widescreen versions) and doesn't really give any details except standard functional stuff that some blu rays may have.
Amazon always does that for movies on BR, they link in the DVD version or heaven forbid, VHS version, reviews/comments about the movie. Until it releases, any reviews or the like for a BR title that hasn't come out are coming from the DVD versions.

Definitely in for this ... here's hoping for a sale between now and October, love the fact there's no risk with pre-ordering on Amazon since they don't charge til it ships. Thanks LP!

I heard about it coming to blu ray on blu ray digest. I was going to buy the widescreen DVD edition, but I decided to wait for the blu ray version. Now here it is. I also have to wait for Jurassic Park to go to blu ray now.

Very tempting, but I can't see them raising the price, and I'm hoping either Best Buy or Target will have a special edition.

I saw it on Amazon yesterday using my phone and didn't have time to put in the pre-order. Today I went back and saw that it was in my Amazon Goldbox Quick Picks for $53.19! Pre-ordered immediately.

I don't think the pre-order price will go up anytime soon since the release isn't for a few more months. So if you want to try waiting for it to show up in your Goldbox Quick Picks (by browsing to it, placing it into your cart, removing it... I'm not sure what triggers it), then you could save an extra $2.80.

I'm also planning to sell my DVD BttF boxset to defray the costs of the bluray set... so I think this is win/win!
Still waiting Back to the future 4 :)
like what? back to a time where Marty didn't shake convulsively??

seriously, I think there is a better chance at a re-boot than a 4th sequel..now what would they use in a reboot? I'd be all for a slick looking new model Dodge Challenger..

I love these movies and want to get them, but I remember buying the DVDs at release, having to send a disc back because it wasn't the right aspect or somesuch nonsense, and then promptly saw the price drop like a rock shortly after release as well. I'll hold off a little while this time around, but thanks for the info.

I have the dvd box set and would love a dvd trade up coupon, similar to what disney offers for their trade up to blu rays..here's hopin'!
I don't blind buy Universal catalogs anymore. So I'll wait for reviews on this.
Same here. I'll wait for some reviews as well, as I'm sure you're getting it in advance for review, there should be enough time to see reviews and still get it at pre-order pricing.

Not gonna pre order only cuz I'll wait and see what kind of deals abound when we're closer to october.

they should just use the original car. Have his kid find it stored out in a barn or something.

Nope, Universal cut of nearly every minor site unless you gave them virtual BJs in the form of scores that were not warranted. I am not in the habit of lying to people to get some free $15 BDs. Other sites, well, they do. (Which is fine by me and Universal releases generally crap as-is).

Can't do that a train took out the original. Maybe use the train the professor was in and base it 2012 when the world ends.
While the price may not go up, there's also no harm in placing your pre-order now. Amazon doesn't charge you until it ships.
Technically that's true.

However, if you have gift card balance Amazon will deduct from your total.
So in essence you are charged.

I've slowly seen my $300 gift card balance dwindle to almost nothing, mostly on pre-orders like this BTTF blu-ray and Metroid: Other M on Wii, etc.

I watched the 2nd and 3rd in theaters, I can't remember if my parents took me to the first one. I doubt it though I was 5 at the time.

You can select for Amazon to NOT take from your gift card... I always do this and only use my Giftcard on stuff shipping right away. Hate to tie up GC money on stuff that isn't coming out for a while.

How do you select Amazon NOT to take away from the gift card balance?

I am checking out and don't see it as an option.
Also, I'm not seeing it in my account settings either.

Help?

When checking out, on the final "Place your order" page, look to the right where it says payment options and hit the "Change" button. It will take you to a new screen where you can uncheck a box that says "Use my giftcard balance"

I need to see how these blus turn out before i buy. I would love to get it, but if the transfers ain't that good then i'll stick with my dvds.

Thank you sir.

I hate that I'm getting double-dipped to upgrade to blu-ray.
But I love this trilogy so much, I can't resist.

Back to the Future should never have a "reboot" IMHO. It's a movie that worked perfectly because of the time (no pun intended here :)) period it came out . A remake would just be about a guy going back in time in a cool car. I generally love time travel as a movie concept, but this one is perfect as is.

Cheesy as it might sound, Hot Tub Time Machine got about as close as it should be done.

Today is the day Doc sets the time machine 25 years ahead to.

Would have been a great promotion tool to release this set today.

I wonder if this set will have the SD DVD on one side and the BD on the other. If it does I will not pick this up at all. I hate that combo shit.
Does this set come with the Universal Studios "Back to the Future: The Ride" movie on it, like the SE dvd single release did?
So buying this cause It's such an awesome Trilogy.

But, that alone would be worth the price tag and then some!! :D :D

All they did anyways was kept everything from the ride and just painted it Simpson's Colors.

Blu-Ray only on this set.

No he doesn't. If you're referring to the screenshot that says July 05 2010, it's fake. Watch the movie again. He sets it for July 04 1776 and then December 25 0000.

The 26th of October is the perfect day because it's exactly 25 years after the time machine is first used by Einstein.

Correct me if im wrong but doesn't Universal have a streak of releasing poor quality of old movies on blue ray?

It should have been released November 5th since thats my birthday and the day that Marty arrives at back in time.
Somewhat tempted to go for the Trilogy and Psycho but I have a feeling Psycho's price will drop somewhat quickly.
Well, I went ahead and did this promo because October is a while for Amazon to go through its random drop/raise price system, and I wanted both anyway.

I do agree Psycho will drop, but 20 for it is a solid price for one of the best movies made.
