Background Sound recorder?

Is there a decent freeware program that can copy background audio playing on a pc, for example... copying the Streets of Fire music? I know windows has the sound recorder, but it seems to effect the quality and is limited to a 60 sec length?

Check out "audio recorder for free" (download.com). It's freeware with no restrictions. I use it occasionally here at work.

If you need something more specific, Total Recorder works wonders, although it's shareware (if it's still around). I've used it to schedule recordings and such. It also has a feature that will pause the recording if the audio stops (e.g. when realplayer starts buffering) and resume recording as soon as it continues playing.
