Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance II used for$44.99 at Gamestop?!

I saw a used copy of Dark Alliance II at Gamestop the other day for $44.99 and was wondering why it was so expensive. I know it came out around the same time the first Champion of Norrath came out so it doesnt make much sense. Can anyone help me out here? Its not listed on the website and the only copy is gone at the story.
 
Well it was the only copy they had and its not available online. It's a shame because these are the only RPG's I really like, can't stand the fruity JRPG's. Oh well, I'll just have to pick up the sequal to Champions of Norrath someday. Thanks for the help.

Keep checking around your EB/GS. The Champions sequel is on sale for $14.99 new if any of these stores has any left. Look for the cardboard bins in the middle of the store.
 
Yeah, it's been worth about that much for a while.

I lucked out and got a minty, complete BG: DAII for PS2 at Blockbuster for $25.
 
Why is this worth that much though? Between BG: DA1, Bard's Tale, CoN1 and 2, Fallout:BoS... it isn't like BG: DA2 brings something completely unique to the table. Bard's Tale does, but it ain't priced at $50...

It isn't like BG: DA brings "cliche, but fun" to the table either. It's got to be the worst of the hack n' slashers, except for Fallout:poS.

I'm liking the two or so worlds I've done in CoN2, and if anyone disses Bard's Tale, I'm gonna have to play my irritating flute and summon a light fairy to blind them.

Bard's Tale blew. I lie, I enjoyed it.
 
i sold a sealed copy for $99 awhile back. it was also within 24 hours of the listing. i also sold the xbox version sealed for $50. definitely hard to find in stores but on ebay you could luck out and might grab a copy for less than $30 used. its always the ps2 version thats alot more though for some reason. although the xbox version is better cause its hdtv unlike the ps2 one.

Indeed I have. The only two I haven't beaten are Fallout (at some point I asked myself "Why am I even bothering with this crap?") and CoN2 (good, but some big release came along and sidetracked me). And what's with all the poor reviews for Bard's Tale anyway? Seriously, my only complaint is that there isn't much replay value (no real alternate "builds" for the Bard), but otherwise, it's brilliant.
 
Well, at some point, without the ability to trade Worn Leather for Tainted Cloth gauntlets as a means of bulking up the hack and slash, the idea that BT can get old is certainly understandable. But the only point it overstays its welcome is at the endgame dungeon, and by that point combat is trivial, so you can hoof it to the climax relatively easily.

You forgot, though, that BT has the most brain dead unlocking system known to man. Thankfully, the ability to download the soundtrack from the BT website mitigates a great deal of this, but having access to the ending FMVs without a solid two hours of donating to priests would be nice.

Irony: They fixed that right up in the PC version, cutting the donation-spam required by a factor of 10 or so.
 
I played Bard's Tale as well and enjoyed it.
Played the original way back when, so it was a nice update.

It was one of the few games I beat last year.
 
BGDA2 was not that great of a game. It was enjoyable, but the ending made me want to murder a few people.

Sears was clearancing these out a while back, even though they were still in huge demand. I ate well that week.
