Is there any reason why a purchase I made at Circuit City on Sunday still wouldn't be showing up in my checking account transaction history online? Usually it's updated online right after I buy something. Did I come away with a free Circuit City purchase? Or is this explainable somehow?

Well, it could've been made as a "credit" purchase if you used your debit card. If that happened, it will show up in a few days.

also since purchased on sunday can add a business day before it shows

Circuit City usually takes forever (2-3 days) to show up on my account, especially when they credit me back any money.
