Get ready, here it comes! B&N is having their bi(tri?)annual 50% off Criterion sale, starting 3AM on 7/10 (online, obviously), and at opening on 7/10 for B&M. It will end on 7/30.

Expect YMMV luck with utilizing coupons in conjunction with this sale, although 90% of the time members succeed. Coupons have come in all flavors during this sale in previous years, so it's up in the air what we are in for this go around. Coupons are said to be most frequently posted in this thread at DVD Talk.

Also expect to be able to use your B&N membership 10% off in-store discount in conjunction with this sale, or expedited shipping when ordering online.

Do not expect to be able to preorder movies using this discount (although I have been able to in the past, but only half the time).

So what are you guys looking for? I'm gonna get The Killing, Rushmore, The 400 Blows, For All Mankind, Anatomy of a Murder, Branded to Kill, Summer With Monika, Three Colors, Cul-De-Sac (maybe), Close-Up....

YMMV but I was able to price match Rushmore at Best Buy and use a $5 off coupon.

So $15 for a Criterion. Not too bad.

Grabbed Metropolitan. Up to 38 Criterion titles now... started buying them a year ago during the first sale last year. -.-
Oh, and a tip for derkDuck don't watch Antichrist:

While eating
With your significant other
While in an altered state of any kind
With your parents
With the volume up or your neighbors might call the police

(You know, we could probably make a pretty extensive list of things not to do while watching this movie)
Some might say that "not to watch this movie" would also work as a "things not to do while watching this movie". ;)

I've not seen it personally, though the advice arcane93 provides and rifle21 provides are good ones from what I know of it.

I just wanted to say that USPS lost one of my four orders and B&N replaced my ordered with absolute grace. I made the complaint and it shipped the next day. I was surprised and thankful for such speedy and effective customer service.

I would think anyone watching a movie called Antichrist and it being a Lars von Trier film would know what they were getting into. I saw it in theaters with my wife and we survived just fine. If all you watch is Eddie Murphy comedies and then someone popped in Antichrist I could see you being disturbed but for film buffs who watch more adventurous cinema I think you'll be just fine.

Charade is one of the most infinitely rewatchable movies ever. Such a great film.

I am considering Charade.. I've never seen it, but it just seems too great of a cast to avoid it.

I only got The Great Dictator (blu) and Night Train to Munich (dvd). I love both.

I really want Samurai Trilogy on blu, but I bought them on dvd during last summer's sale before it was announced for blu.

Anyone got any good war film suggestions? Night Train to Munich was great.

Paths of Glory is my favorite "war movie". One of Kubrick's best.

Just a quick bump to remind everyone that this is the last day of the sale, if there's anything you want that you haven't grabbed yet.

I just hope they have better coupons coinciding with the sale in November...

The Battle of Algiers is great. It's more of a political/espionage film, but you'll see how influential it was on subsequent war films.
