do you benefit in this game for level grinding? I just got it the other day and have been really taking my time with it. just wondering if it will pay off to level up a bunch early.

The game is not soo much about what level you are at, the cards you have and are using are much more important, and for the most part there is no use trying to level up until near the end of the game because you are just wasting time when you can be leveling with better experience near the end. If you ever have trouble beating a boss just arrange your cards according to the weakness, and if you dont have many cards and its really hard then I guess you could find enemies that drop the cards you want and fight them, but leveling does not matter as much. The only boss I had to fight quite a few times was pretty far on near the end(Im assuming near the end at least, havent beat it yet but just finished my biggest semester project so hopefully I will have the time to finish it now). Great game, don't try to get all of the cards like I was doing because you will feel really bad when you find out you miss one.

Thanks for the info.

I just beat the 2nd Iron Beetle, so I am early in the game. Took me a while to beat him, but my none of my characters died.

For most of the game no, but in the final dungeon it becomes useful to have high levels. However by then there is an easy level trick using some cards you acquire so it doesn't take forever.

Not too much, but it doesn't hurt. Play your cards against the enemies weaknesses, and that will help you more.

Thanks for all the advice. I've been somewhat trying to level-up when I get the chance. Lyude (?) is getting left out right now unfortunely because I've been focusing up leveling up Xelha, Kalas and Gibari. Also I've been trying to get better cards, switching out stuff like Short Swords and putting in Dark Swords and so on.

Just beat it today, great game. Most of the game I used Kalas and Xelha then switching with one of the other non mage characters. Definately just pick one of the mage characters to concentrate all your cards on, they will end up being realllllly good. Xelha busts out 9 to 1 card combos like no other and takes like 5k damage near the end. One thing I found cool about the game is the fact that you are playing as a spirt helping them and they acknowledge that you are in another world and stuff, it makes the ending kinda cool.

good to see you liked the game. I am sort of trying to take my time with this game so I don't make mistakes. good to hear about Xehla as well, since I am keeping her as part of my permanent party. I just got to the waterfall town and realized now I have to backtrack to get this little girl cookies. the jungle area annoys me :) how do you use that light stone?
