Baten Kaitos question (spoilers)

CAGiversary!
How far am I into the game? I just beat some evil giant magnus card in the garden in Mira and made it to the story book village. I'm starting to get board and was wondering if the end was near, and also I'm not finding too many good defensive Wind and light magnus so I've started to get beat up pretty bad by even some of the regular monsters. Are there going to be better cards before the too long?

Don't feel like starting up again and I'm thinking about sending the game to my cousins to play since they're more into closed ended RPGs than I am.

Edit: I probably didn't need to start yet another Baten Kaitos thread. Sorry.

i have gotten some cool cards, but was wondering about using blank magnas. After using the magnas, it says that I will have to throw away an item, to get another blank magnas ; which captures the essence of certain artforms. I have tried sorting through my cards and removing a lesser, but it keeps saying that I dont have any blank magnas. Why is that?
thank you,
Joey

I liked it. FAQ's from gamefaqs. Or just cheat. That's how I puch threw some RPG's. Afterall you're there mostly for the story right, not the gameplay.

OP - you still have quite a ways to go. I was starting to feel what you're feeling at that point, but decided to stick with it. A good ways later (I'm gonna ballpark it at 15 more hours, give or take) I still wasn't at the end and just called it quits.

The game has some very good ideas, but these ideas are combined with a very weak story (with a horrible "twist"), sucky voice acting and some basic poor execution. The cards are very random - you continue to get crap cards throughout the game, and since cards have no monetary value you either just toss them or keep amassing a huge pile of crap. The difficulty is very uneven - where I finally quit I was owning all of the random battles, but couldn't even scratch the boss. I thought the "you have to buy your levels at the temple" thing was a nice throwback to older RPGs, until I realized why this went the way of the dodo - no matter how much you fight in a dungeon, you'll never level. You have to leave said dungeon to actually level.

Oh, and the combining cards sounds neat at first, until you realize to get the combinations you basically have to fight low-level monsters that can't hurt you since the cards you'll be tossing out to combine will usually either do nothing or heal them.

I guess what I'm saying is if you're getting bored now, I'd recommend stopping. There are much better RPGs out there to invest your time in.
