Batman $8 at BB & FS Price Error YMMV - Pick Up In store

I just picked up a PS3 and 360 copy at FS for myself and a 360 one at BB for $8 for a friend. At BB they initially had it at $40 but I told them on the pickup sheet said $8 so she's like "oh, ok" and changed the price.
 
Damn, I wish I hadn't gone to the Changing Of The Guard ceremony. I could have had an $8 copy of AA from the lackeys at Best Buy. Oh well, at least Killzone 2 paid for the entire pre-order so I didn't have to pay a cent.
 
Well, I actually picked up my order successfully today. I handed over the pickup printout and the girl looked at me, quite rightly, like I was some sort of joker (no pun intended).

Needless to say, she was pretty surprised when their printout showed the same price. Didn't give me any hassle about it -- in fact, was generally friendly about it -- but asked how I got the price (answered, quite honestly, that it was just the price that showed up on the site and I had no idea why... but I was apparently the only person to do a pickup at that price). So she took my $8-something and sent me on my way.

Very fortunate. I'm pretty stunned and happy that I got it for this price. Should've ordered a copy for my brother, but I didn't really expect the order to go through in the first palce.

Part of me briefly worried after the fact that the girl who helped me could get in trouble for selling it at that price, but ultimately, I didn't do anything out of line as a customer.

When you do an in store pick up do you have to order with your credit card or can you just submit the order and pay for it later? It seems as though you just paid after...I wasn't aware you could do that.
 
Wow...I'm surprised some people actually got in on this deal. I ordered a PS3 copy at both Future Shop and Best Buy at around 3am...only to be called this afternoon by both stores telling me the price was an error, and if I decide to pick up my copies I will be charged the $38.83 price.
Props to the people who did get the deal though. :applause:

For an ISPU, the credit card is just used to hold the order; you are able to change your payment option when you pick up the item. I use my parents' CC to complete ISPU orders, then pay by debit so I dig myself into debt, as opposed to my parents.:cool:

I actually did use my credit card to pay, mind you. Still find it hard to believe that I got the game for $8. Ridiculous.

Frankly, I wouldn't have been bothered had they said no*, but I'm very happy they didn't.

*Unlike some folks on RFD who seem hellbent on browbeating their way via receipt scans into getting the game for this price. I'm really surprised some stores apparently do accept scans.
