Batman Arkham Asylum GOTY PC for $13.60 on Steam! (Weekend Deal!)
probably a used 9800gt or lower on ebay. or even the gt220-250.

if you want new, you can get a gt430 for around $80.
will it work in a PCIe 2x slot though?

Getting a secondary nvidia card wil get physx going? Does it matter how good the card is? Right now I can run at about max settings everything with 4X MSAA and get a constant 60fps. When I turn on Physx it drops to like 20 :(

This game looks fantatsic. its not metro 2033 good, but its up there. Really a gorgeous game.
How long is the campaign? I heard its only like 15 hours or so. I know thats good and all and I shouldnt complain blah blah but I need mileage on my games - i.e. multiplayer or a single player game with replayability. I think Ill wait til the holiday Steam sales honestly. Will probably be on sale for real cheap then. Probably other better games too...
I try to avoid saying that anyone absolutely must buy something. This is because so many times in my short life someone has played up a game or an experience as incredible, and I have found it to be disappointing (... Psychonauts as an example, but I digress.)

I'm also wary of short games, just like yourself.

Having said that, this game is easily some of the best 15 hours I have spent. It isn't as long as a Final fantasy game. It also isn't one of those games where people feel the moderate to short length is justified by some sort of epic moment. For me, /literally,/ I enjoyed every single second of those 15 hours. That's saying something since usually most games I play have a bit of a slog in them somewhere.

You literally feel like Batman. The game seems to encapsulate Batman's... approach to the game world. At least that's how I felt about the pop up indicators for areas you can leap to, or when to trigger attacks and such.

The game actually makes collection of items feel like reading pages of a well written comic book. You learn a bit about the other characters, pick up neat little scraps and vignettes from stories, etc. This was a lot of fun for me. Surprisingly a lot of fun for me, since I'm not someone who is even into comics.

If you buy it and you dislike it, I sympathize and I'll apologize for making you spend your money. Not everything is for everyone. (... Damn you Psychonauts.)

I could get this game, but I have a strong distrust with the G4WL function. Ever since I bought Red Faction: Guerilla on steam and forcefully used the G4WL to save the game, followed by updating its software, it fucked up my save progress with Fallout 3. I didn't want to play another game with the G4WL function again.
