Batman Begins (PS2) 9.99 Pre Owned

I was at work today at hollywood video and we were dropping some games for PV and noticed that Batman Begins was only 9.99, combined with the 4 9.99 and below games for $20 you could make a killing on ebay!

they have 3 used copies at my local VGS for $19.99, seems like the $19.99 "sealed" pricedrop is nearing very rapidly...

No dice in the Fort Wayne area. I went in to the Hollywood video in New Haven and found a couple preplayed copies of Batman Begins, but they were marked $39.99. I asked the cashier to check the price. She looked at the sticker on the box and then looked at me and said $39.99. I asked her to scan it to check the price. She asked if I want to buy it. I said not for $39.99, if it's less then I might. She scanned it and it was $39.99 in the system. So maybe it's YMMV.

The bottom line is, I'm not an idiot. I can read the sticker on the package. But I do know that people make mistakes, especially when it comes to retail.
Is this game any fun even? Just based on reviews, this game seems very very mediocre at best.
I enjoy it, but the carrot of seeing movie clips may be what keeps me playing. If it had any kind of fighting engine it would be fantastic.
If I remember correctly, a similar thing happened before with Star Wars: Republic Commando and it was very YMMV.
You remember correctly. I was still OK with getting SW:RC for $19.99 (the price it was at my local HV) since I had credit from trade-ins when they had the minimum $5 per dvd trade, but, in hindsight, I probably should have waited, since I still haven't played it, and I hate that it doesn't have the original case or insert.

The game is so-so. I imagine the younger you are the more you will enjoy it. The graphics are great and the voice acting is top-notch. But the issue is that they spoon feed you EVERYTHING. You walk into a room and there's a blinking interactive icon over which door you should go to next or where you need to shoot your grapple or over a key you need, etc...

They even spoonfeed you in the fighting, if a character is blocking a red B button pops up and reads "guard break" or something juvenile like that, signaling you as if it wasn't obvious enough that you need to break through his blocking tactics.

It would've been fine for tutorial level but it never goes away throughout. It seems like they made it to compete with Splinter Cell, but then realized that it would alienate the younger teen audience so they hand hold you from room to room.

Seasoned gamers beware, you will probably be disappointed. It is beautiful and could've been really fun, but not what it should've/could've been. To this day the SNES Sunsoft Animated Batman and Robin game is still the best if you are looking for a fix.

my hollywood video sells games without the game's original dvd cover. will hollywood video give you it's original dvd cover if you ask and if they have it?

Mine wouldn't for the SW:RC (they had a few of the original covers on the empty display boxes and the rental copies). I would guess that how strict they are about it is YMMV, but I'm not sure.

We always take the original display boxes from pulled games and put them under PV tables or in the office. If you ask they should be able to grab it for you, i mean the only thing we'd use a PS2 display box for is a PS2 game, and we get new ones every time new games are shipped anyway

Sunsoft?
Don't you mean the SNES Batman and Robin by Konami?

Anyway, I may check out this game for the Batmobile stages, which I read are ripped from/based on Burnout.

I see this game dropping in price very soon. IMO, what kills it for me is that "rabidmonkeys" says that they "spoonfeed you though the whole game" that I do not like and more then likely keep me from buying this game until it's $9.99
