I was just browsing through Amazon and noticed they had Batman: The Animated Series seasons on sale. Volumes 1,2, and 4 are $21.49 each, and Volume 3 is $20.99. These sets rarely go on sale so get them while you can.

Volume 1
Volume 2
Volume 3
Volume 4

I also noticed they have The Complete Superman: Animated series (8 discs, 54 episodes) for just $20.99!

Superman: The Complete Animated series

They also have seasons of Batman Beyond for $14.49 each (season 2 is $14.99):

Season 1
Season 2
Season 3

There might be others on sale so post any that you see and I'll update the list.
Bah! The Superman DVD set is double sided.

I'm now deliberating whether or not to buy Batman, though I can wait for it to go to $20 or $15.
The individual Superman volumes are $14.99 each if you don't want flippers (EDIT: Apparently the individual sets also have flippers), which is still a solid price. I also like the cover art and packaging better on the individual ones. I've been tracking the batman sets for some time now and they never seem to go on sale so I'd jump now if I were you.

There are signs that they're dropping a little more though. Last night only vol. 3 was $20.99, but now vol. 4 has also dropped to that price. All volumes might do the same soon.

I bought Batman: TAS for $20 at Walmart this past weekend. I'm still looking for sets 2 and 3.

Why not just order them at Amazon? I mean, it's a dollar or two more, but no tax (I'm assuming).
the superman set is tempting but i dont like the double sided discs. is there pics of the inside packaging?
Double sided? I hate DVD's like that. I rather buy the Superman series in volume sets instead.
How much is shipping from Amazon cause it's been a long while since I've shopped there.
$2.99 if you don't buy anything else, Free if you spend $25 or more.

I was just reading some reviews and someone mentioned that the individual sets also contain double-sided discs :/
Wonder if there is a complete set of the batman tas ?
Instead of getting them in sets ?
There was a complete limited edition set but it's sold out now and oop. I wish I knew about it when it first came out :(

They have a Batman Beyond set just like that right now that will likely go OOP too: http://www.wbshop.com/Batman-Beyond-The-Complete-Series/1000117482,default,pd.html?cgid=

Looking at some of the Superman single set reviews, the first disc is one sided and the second disc is double sided. Is the complete series just these same discs repackaged or all double sided?

Same deal. For each season in the complete series set the first disc is single sided and the second disc is double sided.

i think he would have received negative feedback if that was the case

It is shipped from China so there's a good chance it's not an authentic release, in fact I'm sure it isn't. I remember one or two people on here saying they bought one and it looks almost exactly like the original except there were some typos here and there in the book. It's pretty much identical to what you'd get from WB otherwise I think

Some people can't spot a bootleg when they see one. It's possible the other buyers think it's legit.

I completely understand why double sided discs suck. They are fucking retarded if you ask me, but I'm not going to let it stop me from buying this set. It does stop me from attempting to rent them from Netflix or borrow them from my local Library because there's no fucking chance in hell all the discs will play correctly. There's a 100% chance that some of them will at the very least freeze. Hopefully if I buy the set brand new from amazon and I don't have an epileptic fit while putting the disc in the player, I should keep them in good shape. :p

If you have very young children with small hands who might drop the discs, I understand. My advice would be to "back up the discs" onto blank DVDs with a PC DVD burner and software like DVDfab, (or DVD Shrink 3.2/DVD Decryptor). That way you can let your children have the "back up copies" and keep the original box set out of reach on top of a shelf or something.

If that sounds like too much work, just let your kids watch Nickelodeon and the Disney channel. Just make sure they watch Batman TAS.
Superman TAS isn't as good anywayz. :p

Superman deal is tempting! But the reviews are saying that the packaging overall is terrible! Not just the issue of being double sided, but how the discs are held in the box as well. Sounds like a flimsy package for what you pay for. Eh, I should probably save my money anyway.

This guy sells counterfeit shoes.

From Vibram's website showing counterfeit shoe models:

The Batman DVDs are almost certainly counterfeits as well.
I didn't even really like Superman animated but for that price I can't pass it up
Same here, 56 episodes for $20.99 is to good to pass up, especially since I don't believe it will ever go lower or it might be harder to find in the future.

I finally ordered Vol 3 & 4 of Batman Beyond. I've missed out the last couple of times they hit that price. I also picked up the Superman set even though I just need the last season lol

To anybody that purchases Superman make sure you open and check the packaging is fine. The way they manufactured the case and disc holder is a little flawed. It is very easily breakable and do recommend opening and not holding onto it and find out later down the line.

It won't be - the first seasons of Superman and Batman showed up in the Big Lots sale about a year and a half ago, where they sold a bunch of surplus box sets for $3 each. This particular set may be a little more difficult to find, but there's no reason at all to buy it as an "investment".

Picked it up for myself - I'd actually had the set in my cart for months. It's not quite as good as the Batman series, but it's close.

Anybody have a suggestion as to which volume of Batman TAS they prefer the most? Thinking about getting one of the volumes for a birthday present.

Well the original Batman: TAS spans over volumes 1 + 2 + part of 3.

So if you have to pick get one of those.

I bought them all, I love this show and it's other spinoffs greatly.

I own all four volumes and I agree with you; volumes 1-3 are simply wonderful. Volume 4 is also quite good, with Superman crossovers and a shift in overall art design (I liked it, but not nearly as much as the overall look of B:TAS by the end of volume 3).

If you have enough money to spare, I say just get all four volumes. Otherwise, get 1-3, and pick up Batman Beyond at some point in the future. Just my $0.02 :)

By the way, I got Superman the Animated Series in the mail earlier this week. I essentially missed out on this entire series since it came out while I was in college. I'm on what would be the second season and I'm greatly enjoying it. The show is lighter and brighter in tone than BTAS, but to be fair it's fitting since these are Superman tales. In my opinion they did a great job of making Superman's character and life enjoyable in a fresh, new way. I also love the Lois Lane portrayal and dynamic greatly. I can now see how this show possibly influenced Lois' portrayal in Smallville. I'm really glad the deal for this was posted here, so thanks again, OP!
