Does anyone know if there's a significant difference in battery life when playing a game downloaded from the store vs. playing it on UMD? With several PSP digital titles now priced at $10, I'm considering buying the digital title rather than the UMD if it's going to have a significant savings on battery life - Locoroco 2, for example. thanks!

It depends on what you mean by significant.

In my experience, playing a game that streams a lot from UMD (Test Drive Unlimited in my case), the battery lasts about 3 hours.

Whereas from memory stick, probably lasts 4 1/2 hours.

I consider that significant and worth investing into, if battery life is important to you. I think you will normally see a 25-50% increase on most titles. Also, loading times can be better as well.

My favorite part though is just having them ready to boot right from memory, without needing to swap UMDs.

thanks for your replies guys. wow so you're both in agreement about that nearly 50% boost in battery life if you play off the memory stick. i guess that will change a few of my purchases to go with the digital title instead.

that and i'll probably buy one of those extended batteries. i hear they're like double the life of the one that comes with the psp.
