Battle of the Donuts: Krispy Kreme VS. Dunkin Donuts

Wow, I can't believe these are neck and neck. Maybe you guys have good dunkin, but I have yet to eat a dunkin donut that wasn't nasty. KK on the other hand is heavenly sweet, warm, gooey goodness that rolls off that assembly line begging to be devoured.

It depends on the type of doughnut for me, (I grew up around BOTH so unlike alot of posters on here, this isnt some territorial thing)

Glazed and Chocolate iced... KK... by a mile... the chocolate iced are perfection, bought a few a couple weeks ago that apparently been iced as soon as the glazed doughnuts had just finished cooling, they were so fresh...

Most others DD... love chocolate cream filled from them...mmmm... the variey is much better with DD

Too bad the nearest DD is about 3-4 hours away from me these days... the closest I get to DD type doughnuts are from Shipleys

and I agree with the remark about not buying KK's from the grocer, because it is not the same thing when they have sat for a day or 2... shelf life on them is short... the chocolate iced packages in the grocer never look really good, buy direct
 
I like the DD ones better because KK's feels like I'm swallowing donut-shaped ball of sugar. There's too much sweet power there. Maybe they should be used to power starships in space. *There was a reference in the previous sentence, but it's kind of vague, soooo ....

I can eat a lot more DD ones and not feel overwhelmed. They also dunk better in milk.

KK's always leave my hands all nasty.

Either way, I would eat both because I'm a pig, but I like DD better. DD FTW!

Agreed. There are two Donut Places called "Whole Donut" they are good, and everythnig is fresh.

Yeah, KK died after like a month in RI. Dunkin Donuts destroyed them, and frankly I can see why. KK's donuts were horrible, and on top of that they made me sick to my stomach.

DD all the way.
 
Not a fan of either, but KK is waaay too sweet for me, so I gave my vote to DD. But as long as I have a choice, I'll always go to a local shop.
 
KK's are sooooo good. Dunkin's are bigger though. DD kinda died where I live, I know of only one DD shop around but we have a KK section in just about every gas station.
