Hmm...Rock Band listed for $59.99. Anyway you could post a pic of that to see if it shows the actual box with all the instruments or just the game itself. Is the game even available alone? Any clarification on this would be great tinyandi. Thanks for the post.

It's just the game and nothing else. Sorry!

just to clarify, Sunday is the day to get to the store early to get a wii? My nephews live in a town that only has wal mart and their mom has pretty much given up so I would like to do this for them. If anyone has any info let me know. Thanks!

It still amazes me how Nintendo (or rather retailers I guess) still pull this bs every year. The Wii's have been sitting around store shelves for months and yet once Thanksgiving passes by, it's like someone went to the stores and bought ALL of them magically so that it's OOS almost everywhere. Truly, the practices of retail never cease to amaze me. Like the Times Square TRU in NYC had literally a WALL of Wii's in the past couple of months (I know since I would see them during those weeks of B2G1F sales including a few weeks ago when they had the Wii games only B2G1F) and yet now it's like "oh yeh, check back tomorrow, we might be getting a shipment in stock". The old bait and switch, man it pisses me off. Hey corporate America, if you want our money, JUST SELL US SOMETHING AT A GOOD PRICE INSTEAD OF HIDING IT AND MAKING US BUY YOUR $#IT! *whew* There, I'm done with my venting at retailers. haha

Speaking of OOS, anyone in NYC see the rock band special edition boxes at any BB's? I've been checking the major 3 for the past week and no one seems to be getting any anytime soon.

I've ~never~ seen a Wii sitting on a shelf since it released last year... and I don't understand the rest of your rant b/c the logic seems so misguided.

well, if they are hiding them, they are hiding them well, I haven't seen a Wii on a store shelf since I managed to snag one for myself back at a K-mart back in April. This hasn't been for lack of trying either. I have several friends and family members still looking for them. I do live in a much smaller market than New York, but anytime Wii's have been available around here, they have been gone within minutes (from what I've heard anyway). I don't think it is all just retailers blowing smoke, not that they don't do that often. Damn you for making me semi-defend corporate america, though I do love taking advantage of their sales.....I think all CAGs do actually......does that make it like sleeping with the enemy...? If so, then we're all whores....which I can live with.

All three consoles were in good stock at the Manchester, CT Best Buy at several points this year. I don't know what the current situation is. I always walk in there and think, wow, there's at least a few Wiis and I hear they're supposed to be rare.

I wish you could get one down here in Florida. I don't think they shipped an even amount of these out... Best Buy by me has them stacked all over the place.

Sales of the Wii every week are approximately production of Wii every week numbers. I haven't seen a Wii in a store here in Memphis ever, and I've been looking for them. Congratulations on living somewhere that had a wall of them at some point (although I'm skeptical of even that claim), but that is certainly not the case for most people.

Nintendo sells every console they can make and makes a profit per sale. What possible reason could they have for holding back? Purposely reducing profits is bad for shareholders and leads to high-level executives getting fired. I personally consider this myth busted.

Count me in as other who will likely be camping Best Buy early Sunday. I have one of my own from last year and bought another for my nephew a mere week ago rather easily, but ever since the mainstream news broke and Black Friday madness swept around it's been hell -- and I'm camping around for a third to give to my cousin because, in true CAG fashion, I refuse to let my family pay a cent over retail on the Wii. Bundles be damned!

If Target has the Wii in its flier, I might go there instead, but the BB I frequent is a little more out of the way so I might have a better shot ... regardless, I'll be waking up at 4 a.m. just to play it safe.
The Wii's have been sitting around store shelves for months...
I live in Baltimore, a mid-sized city, and I travel to a combination of Target, Best Buy, Circuit City, ToysRus, and Walmart at least 8 times a week (no lie - I get bored at lunch). So that's about 400 visits to stores over the past 12 months (sad I know).

In total, I have seen about 12 actual Wii's for sale, ever, no shit.
First thank you for posting these deals.

It sounds like this is for the game only, no microphones....if it did have the mic's then it would be a great deal.

Hey, I know this might be different for many people, but doesn't BB usually open around 10am? If so, when do you all think it would be a decent time to go? Even with the Wiis popularity, I shouldn't have to go ridiculously early, should I? :whistle2:? Thx.

The picture doesn't show mics but it doesn't say otherwise either. YMMV.

I appreciate seeing the ads early, but are you not really familiar with recent games/American pop-culture? WW Wrestling? Superbad the game?

Don't worry, next time I won't bother writing it up at all. :bomb: It's more about the ads being REALLY blurry...but to each his own.

people that live in NYC. Nintendo World has been getting shipments of Wii every morning since the system released last yr. i guess no1 ever checks there tho.

i want to get SvR 08, i just wish these pending pts would go to my RZ acct so i can get the certs.

Depends on what you consider ridiculously early. 6am, no. 8-9 am yes. Although last Sunday I was at a BB around 10:30 and they had about 6 left.

Sitting around on shelves? Really...???

Man, I can't believe the PS2 version of WWE SvR 2008 for PS2 still hasn't been put on sale for less than $49.99 this year. Last year I got SvR 2007 for $29.99 the weekend after Thanksgiving. It seems like nobody puts good weekly sales on PS2 games anymore.

Damn CoD 4 for 360 for 40 bucks, thats is nuts so soon after release, but there is no way anyone really wanting to play this game could have waited to buy it. If you did, damn your lucky, and patience pays off once again.

wow, for one, there is never any that stay in stock here in my area of va. two, have you ever heard of christmas? everyone tends to buy whatever their children want during this time and during the normal year parents dont want to justify spending that kind of money as much. on that day of the b2g1 free, the tru i work at went through 66 wii's in 2 hours (non-stop line). also, with advertised items (like the wii), would you be pissed if you went into a store that had something advertised and just for them to say "oh, i am sorry, we dont have it. we sold it before our ad came out, oops." i doubt you have worked a day of retail in your life and while i disagree with a lot of what huge retailers do (including tru), what do you expect? i honestly cant stand when people like yourself complain like this and i would love to any of you try and deal with what retail employees do. by the way, we dont make you buy our "$#IT," if you buy it that is all your choice.

What the SHAQ-FU?!? You just build an effing bear, then what? Does it have special weapons/abilities like a pooke-manz and you have to fight other kids' bears or some shiznit?

How the hell is this a game? Though they did put out a Deal or No Deal game, so I guess anything is possible. What's next, The Burger King Training game where they train you to be an employee by making whoppers made to order?

thanks for the ads by the way tinyandi. i am going to pick up a back up copy of CoD 4 (i play my fps' online to death). now i know i need to send someone to best buy to pm circuit city.

If someone hasn't told you already, I'd recommend "checking" tomorrow to see how they are doing it. Most stores would get rid of them Saturday to avoid the line in the AM.

sorry to open a can of worms with the wii availability discussion, but I appreciate the input. I think I'll call tomorrow, if they aren't selling them then, I'll get there an hour to an hour and a half before store opening. Again thanks to all who helped and the OP

I was really hoping :360: NHL 08 would be on sale for $30 like 07 was last year, but doesn't look like that will be happening.

Every Wal-Mart / Target / BB / CC etc etc have Wii's in every week and they sit around for a couple of days.

I guess I'm in one of those lucky areas though.
