Too bad none of the blurays they have at my local BBV are anything I'm even remotely interested.

Altho I wonder if anyone traded in Mario Power Tennis NPC there. >_>

sure it is! The picture in the BUZZ e-newsletter for this promo shows Sega Superstar Tennis and Mario Sluggers. Punch out is sports just as much as they are.

Skate 2 would likely qualify too.


Tiger Woods 10, Grand Slam Tennis, EA Sports Active and Fight Night 4 might go previously played before this deal is done too.
 
Went to my local Blockbuster, and this is what I found-out:

1. This offer only lets you get 50% off a used sports game per game rental. So if you rent 1 game, you can only buy 1 previously used sports game at 50% off.

2. This offer does not apply to wrestling and UFC games. Manager at my local Blockbuster said it might not apply for Madden and NHL games too, but he wasn't completely sure.
 
got skate 2 after the manager at my store called another manager and then the district manager. they hadn't heard of the sale yet and were not sure if skate 2 was considered a sports game. they read an email where it listed which games were NOT included, but skate wasn't on the list, so i got it. probably ymmv, but you should be able to get it.
 
I can confirm the 2/30 BluRay. Got Quantum of Solace, and the manager pulled a WallE. Though the deal isn't as great as it seems, since most of the BluRays I saw were $15.99-- and some were even 9.99!

Where do you get the coupon? Also do they genreally resurface their used games, or do they just shelf them as is?

Coupon is in their email newsletter, unique to each person (?)

I just picked up NHL 2K9 for the PS3 and got it 50% off, so NHL should be fair game.

It'd be ridiculous if this sports deal didn't apply to Madden and NHL; if my BBV told me that, I'd laugh, leave the games on the counter, and exit the store.
 
this is so YMMV! at one store i DID NOT have to RENT any games! but too bad u can't get any 2009 sports game!

also u CANNOT get discount on ANY WRESTLING and/or 2009 games!

unless u get manual overide b a less informed bbv chick :D
 
Got a copy of Skate 2 today for $24.99 and I didn't even need to rent a game with it. :) Pretty much the price I was waiting to get the game at since it came out.
 
No they just added the code and it came right off. They also didn't really know anything about the promo until I asked about it tho.
 
^can u tell me wat the code is? can u look at ur receipt? cuz this is definitlely YMMV, at one bbv they only had a BIN with games that r 50% off ONLY those games in the bin counted...they WERE THE TURDS of all TURDS sports games! :(

if u manage to pickup any good and new sports game at 50% off, consider urself LUCKY!

I picked up MLB 09 the show (really tough to find) yesterday. They claimed that it was an 09 game and they won't sell it to me at a 50% discount. I then just said that it doesn't say that anywhere on the website, and proceeded to show him on my phone that it absolutely shows no restrictions on what sports games qualify.

There's no reason why UFC should excluded from the list. Maybe wrestling ;)

And it worked :) Finally got a decent deal on MLB 09, when i should have pre-ordered it on amazon with the $10 discount back in february.
