Okay, I have an Xbox hooked up to my HDTV, but I would really like to see what they (games) look like on the 360. So far, every single Xbox game I try to play on the 360 freezes the machine. It is getting frustrating.

Should I call CS and send it in to get it fixed or what is the problem.

Anyone else having these types of troubles with their 360.

Thanks in advance for the advice.

Welcome to the wonderful world of the 360...freezing issues. Aren't they great? Yeah...mine is going back to Microsoft and I'm getting it replaced or repaired. Chances are, you're going to have to send it back to MS. At least they are really nice on the phone, and who knows, maybe you'll get a free game out of all your hassles.

Hard drive, connected to Live and checked the BC list on the 360 site. Sounds like I am going to have to call MS and see what they can do about the issue.

Right now I'm playing Fable: TLC, and yesterday the game froze on me.

I do remember that they had an article on GameSpot testing random Xbox games on the 360 and some games did have slowdown/freezing issues. I mean sometimes it gets so bad for me in Fable, that it will go into a slowdown mode for a couple seconds, or the music makes a glitch.

I just thought that with the combination of the GameSpot article and the track record with Microsoft products the BC would act up like this, and never gave it a second thought to send it back to MS.

The one gripe that I can't stand about the BC is how I have to change the screen format for Xbox games. I know its to be expected but it annoys the hell out of me.

Not fulfilling the conditions for BC use of an Xbox game should not result in a freeze. Just an error message. Something is wrong with that 360 if it consistently freezes with Xbox games.

Okay, crap, I guess I need to call CS. It also will not let me play a custom season on TW 2006 and play the Prey demo I downloaded, every other 360 game and demo works. I played about 8 hours yesterday between Kameo and the Live Arcade.

Called MS, CS was very helpful. I have to sent my 360 in for repairs. Asked if they had any demos or such to conpensate me for the time I am going to be without my 360 and the supervisor said they do not have anything to give me and they are not allowed to do it anyway. Bummed, no 360 and no free stuff.

Don't waste your time. They look the same, but run slower.

Is Halo 2 the only game that switches to 16x9 on 360 or upscales or whatever it does? I noticed when I played Lego Star Wars on my 360 the colors seemed a little washed out compared to a 360 game, like someone had turned up the brightness a lot.

Well I guess we're both without a 360 for now. I just sent mine to UPS. Oh well...here's hoping for a quick return. I had heard stories of people having a bad time with MS and they gave them a copy of a game to compensate for their time. If I have to send mine back again, I'm going to complain about the time lost in live and the frustration of a shitty job building the 360

At the same time, we all must remember that this is to be treated like the regular emulation scene. There's 'playable' and then there's 'working'. For example, GTA San Andreas flat out works on the Xbox 360: sharper graphics, improved somewhat sounds, and in some areas the load time is instantaneous. Need for Speed Underground 2 is what I would call playable. There is slowdown, especially during the rendered comic book style cutscenes. Star Wars KOTOR II has some audio pop here and there.
