Beat Em' Ups - Will they ever make a come-back?

The old 4-player X-Men arcade game needs to be thrown into XBL and PSN with mulitplayer.
 
It looks like I am the only one in this forum who remembers Gekido: Urban Fighters for the PS1. Talk about a hidden treasure. There are not that many beat-em'ups for the PS1 that has a 4-player free-for-all mode. I think that one of the reasons why that beat-em'ups are damn near extinct is because for the most part, the genre is to "old-school". Meaning that beat-em'ups are supposedly repetative and too difficult (which alot of reviewers complained about in their reviews). Which is pathetic really since I love the genre a lot like many of you guys.

I just find it ironic people complain about how short games are. Beat Em' Ups had hours of play in them because you had to get really good to beat them. I remember I FINALLY beat Streets of Rage 2 after what... 1-2 years of owning it? It was such an accomplishment. I really got my $30 worth out of that game.
