Beat MGS4? What is your Favorite Act? (Possible Spoilers)

Act 5 no doubt. I really, really liked the entire game, but even Act 4 is a distant second. The ending cinematic was pretty much the best thing ever.

Act 2. Every act after that seemed to be far too short or have some gimmick I hated. Like Act 3's follow the guy around or Act 4's robotic asshole-athon.

Act 4 and 5 most defiantly . The tapping part was awesome. Kept hitting the sides and begging burned. I was screaming for him to get up and keep going. The end was great also. For a second I thought Snake was going to heaven but he didn't. Wouldn't mind seeing another game where snake is guiding like Campbell did for Snake or Major Zero did for Big Boss. Any more Metal Gear would be awesome.

Act 3: ? - Can't put my finger on it.

Splinter Cell. It was Kojimas attempt at replicating the competition. It's also easily my least favorite Act.

Favorite Act was easily Act 4. My level of interest was as followed:

Act 1: Dug it.
Act 2: Kinda Annoyed, but it was still fun.
Act 3: Dull & boring. Like playing a weak version of SC.
Act 4: EXCEPTIONALLY AWESOME. Had me Grinning ear-to-ear from start to finish.
Act 5: The first part was annoying, but the rest of the act was great.

Long ending was long.

Act 4 had a ton of awesome moments and bits of nostalgia all over the place, though my favorite moment was in Act 5 (
Snake limping through the microwave-filled hallway as Meryl/Johnny and Raiden fought off frogs to buy him time
) as it reminded me a lot of my favorite moment of Heavenly Sword (
where Kai's sniping enemies on the bridge as her father limps across
), as a great use of
splitscreen cutscene/gameplay segments
.

I voted act 1 because the gameplay was just incredible and really surprising how well getting thrown into the middle of a war was handled. Act 2 was also good from this perspective as well, and I think the laughing octopus battle was the best B&B fight of the game. 3 was lost on me because I just did what I was supposed to do just walking through (and blew up one helicopter which was fun), although the cutscene at the end was by far the best I've seen in any game. I enjoyed 4, but it has been so long since I played mgs I think some of the magic was lost (I only played the game through once back when it came out and that was it). The metal gear fight was great though. And yes, the hallway. The final battle was out of nowhere and a lot of fun also (and hard).

To sum up: I need to play the game again.

The B&B's have nothing on the Cobra Unit from MGS3. Nothing! Do you think they will re-make Metal Gear MSX and Metal Gear 2 Solid Snake on the Ps3? I think that's the only way they can get any more from this franchise.

Every act has something memorable, but i have to say that my favorite one is act 2, helping the guerrillas rebels, then sneaking pass some of the PMCs, tracking down Naomi's foot prints, then the Gekko chase.

This. From the moment you defeat Laughing Octopus to the Raging Raven fight I was annoyed by gameplay. Not to say it was a bad game, I just would have preferred they stick to normal stealth infiltration rather than tracking, tailing, and bad vehicle sections.

so gotta say that i had never played a MGS before picking up this. I watched and demoed a friends copy and went out and bought the bundle that night. and i have to say that even without knowing the whole story this is quite possibly the greatest single player experiance i have ever had with a videogame. I bought the essentials and plan on playing them and then replaying MGS4 again. can't say how truly amazing this game is.

to answer the question i gotta say Act 2. it had the stealth, the crazy action, the sniping, the mechs, the chases, and it was the first time that I actually paused a game to call a buddy and have a nerdgasm (raiden and vamps fight). stellar game stellar game
