Will all the rock band DLC work with this if I don't have the original Rock Band 2 disk?
No, Rock Band 1, 2, and Lego are compatible. The Beatles is separate from all that.

Edit: Can anyone speak to the quality of the guitar? I only have an RB1 guitar, and I've been wanting to replace it.

Crap. Guess it is a no go for me then. My cousin has a crapton of RB DLC that he would let me DL on my PS3 but I really didn't want to have to buy the game all over again for a different console.

I picked this up for $62 :)ps3:) at Target on clearance :D for my girlfriend and I to play. The drums have had a screwy sensor on the blue pad since the get go and we're in the process of getting a warranty replacement (60 days for free defective hardware replacement).

However, the guitar (or bass, really) has been great. It plays really well and it looks good too. One thing I will say though, since the edges are sharp corners, it tends to hurt my forearm if I play with my arm resting on the top ledge of it, but it wasn't that big of a deal to get used to holding it in such a way to keep that from happening. We have a mirror down the hall from the living room, and occasionally seeing myself playing guitar to Foo Fighters or Metallica on a Hoffner Bass is kinda funny.

RB1 is $12.xx at Gamestop used, FYI.

As far as I know the RB DLC is good for both games regardless of which disc you have. The benefit of RB2 is that you can download all of the RB1 songs for a fee and it's worth it. Borrow RB1 and just pay the fee.

This is definitely a sweet deal for those that need the instruments and like the Beatles. I haven't played any other GH/RB games, but I'm enjoying this one.

Also, while I can't compare the instruments to anything else out there, the reviews I read generally said the drums are just RB 2 drums, the microphone is standard, and the Hoffner is generally high quality but is a bit longer and thinner than the standard, so those with shorter arms may find it less comfortable. Again, just repeating what I've read.

I hemmed and hawed yesterday on the 360 verison and missed out. Probably just as well. Was hoping to find a copy at Target on clearance but have had no luck there and now it's probably too late for that.

Arghh. If I wasn't so busy at work yesterday. I wanted the PS3 and they put it on sale. Oh well. Backlog, blah, blah, blah.

I own RB1 and 2, and for what it is worth all the RB DLC I have appears to be stored in the RB1 file. I'm 90% sure you can use any DLC with either game, except POSSIBLY for Lego Rock Band DLC (But I'm pretty sure you can in that case, too, because you can import the whole LegoRB game into RB1 or 2)

my only problem is never really playing multiplayer... I've gone through a set already and sold it...

It is the beatles though. Last time I checked my local targets had a ton of these laying around. Not sure if they are 62 now, they were 125 last time I went there
