B&tB is my favorite Disney film of all time, and this set is amazing. Even if you don't have the capability or the inclination to watch the 3D version, the restoration job they did benefits the 2D version as well. Just looks amazing. It is far and away the definitive version of this film (including over the standalone 2D Blu-ray, which is what I had prior to this).
You get the option to watch it with the restored "Human Again" song sequence or without. Even as a purist I like watching with this included, since it was part of the original film that just got excised and since it was written by Menken and Ashman, it feels like it belongs. Also makes the transition between scenes make more sense (note the clever smash cut from the big splash at the end of the song to the Beast getting doused in the bath from the original cut of the film).
The menus also are extremely well done. You feel like you're actually drifting through a 3D version of the Beast's castle, along with the actual menus being comprised of sliding stained glass panels depicting elements from the story. My only regret is that all of the BD Live-powered features no longer seem to work. Seems like a missed opportunity since it would have been really cool to have tie-ins to all of the B&tB stuff in new Fantasyland at Walt Disney World.
I got this on eBay (new) shortly after it had gone back in the vault. I think I paid around $35 at the time. I'd probably be willing to pay twice that given how much I love the film, but YMMV.
Also interesting to compare this to the 3D version of the Little Mermaid, which came out later but feels less lavish by comparison (starting with the rather spartan menu).
