Target is having a sale on A Ben 10 figure 5/13 - 5/19.

It's a 6" action figure with batteries included. THe sale price is $6.99. THe ad also says that other selected Ben 10 toys are also on sale.

you know, the kid might be wanting to buy it himself, and just asked his parent to find it for him

"I cant pay $30 for a 4" figure"

I doubt it.

Anyways did you end up winning the figure? I wonder what life would be like if my parents searched on the internet to get me the toy i wanted. Life would be swell.

Im sorry you were neglected as a child, Im sure once you actually move out of your parents house your life will be better.
If your parents couldnt take a little bit of time out of their lives to find you an action figure you wanted Im sorry.
I dunno how it works in canada but you should look into some cheapass counseling instead of showering me in your vast parenting knowledge.

My life is fine now, and i was never neglected as a child. My parents cared for me the way they should have, you still haven't figured that out yet.

You said it yourself, you can't afford to pay $30 for the figure ... so don't. Tell your kid that. You have to teach him that he can't get every little thing he wants. What you think if he doesn't get this figure he'll be scarred for life?

I remember i had a friend who had parents like you. He had every little toy he wanted, and guess what ... yeah he never respected his parents, did what he wanted and now who knows where the fuck he is. I lost contact with him after he dropped out of school.

I'm trying to help you out here, don't cry over it. Tell the kid you can't afford the figure and move on.

Dude this is no way meant to be harassment. Maybe i don't get it, because i'm not a parent ... but kids hearts don't break when they don't get a figurine man ... try and think back to when you were a kid.

If you teach the kid now that he can't get what he wants, it will be better for him and for you. You teach your kid values that he probably wont learn anywhere else, and you can use that money for bills/food things the family needs.

Please don't take this as harassment, i'll admit i don't know what's going on in your life, for all i know these are the only toys he has, but just take it as a helpful tip.

You dont get it because youre not a parent. I figured id get somebody like you posting in this thread. somebody with no experience who has no idea how to be a parent trying to "teach" me.
I wouldnt have made this thread if i wanted to pay $30 for a $5 figure, no i want to pay $5 for a $5 figure.
if you really think a $5 figure is spoiling my kid and keeping food off the table youre a moron.
I appreciate the link you posted earlier, but I dont appreciate having my parenting coached by someone that lives in a completely different world.
I dont want to debate this ny further, so if you could keep all other opinions on parenting out of the thread, Id appreciate it.

word to the wise never, and especially so if you are not a parent yourself, tell someone how to raise their kid. Every kid is different and no one knows this better than the parent. I'm amazed at how different my two kids are and how one thing may work for one, but not the other. If a kid is well behaved there is no reason not to reward them with a small gift routinley. There is nothing better than seeing their eyes light up.

Wow........ I don't get why people like changing the subject of a simple thread. Arfin sounds like he has some personal issues. So far Speedy was the only one to offer a response to the actual question, but if he can't find the toy in his area then a sale might not really help.

Anyway, Paz, was that ebay link to the right figure? If so I can look around in my area and get back to you if I find it.

@ Paz, and jlarlee. You know i hate to flip flop and change my views, but i see that in this situation i was wrong. Sorry to jump at you about your parenting skills like that. jlarlee I will take your advice as it's solid.

If i see the figure around for $10 or under i'll let you know.

Agreed... I don't get why the personal attack was needed in this thread.

To the OP, if the figure is selling for vast amounts on Ebay, it could be that it is a chase figure, or one that isn't packed into either a) many boxes or b) is one per case.

Let me explain it in better terms...

Back when He-Man figures were all the rage, everyone wanted the secondary figures as well. Mekaneck, Evil Lyn, Teela, people like those. However, Mattel had the awesome idea that everyone wanted He-Man and Skeletor, so they would do this. In a box of 12, you would have:

6 He-Man
5 Skeletor
1 Teela

And since Teela was the hard to find one, people would grab it ASAP. Not only kids who wanted the toys, but collectors, and on top of that, scalpers.

So if this figure really is rare and hard to find, and let's say it's packed one to a box of 12 or 16, you've really got your work cut out for you, and the chances, realistically, of finding it in the wild are slim unless you can dedicate a ton of time to it, because you've got people who scour stores for rare toys to resell as well as just straight up collectors, and then, at the bottom, other kids who want the toy too.

I just want to point out:

...that at no point does the OP say he "can't afford" this thing...what he says is that it's crazy to pay $30 for a 4" figure for his kid. Which it is, at least to most people. But that doesn't mean he doesn't have the scratch for it, it means he doesn't think it is worth it...at least, that's the way I read it.

Nothing like petulant teens who still live at home telling you how to raise your friggin' kids. Awesome!

I'm hoping that the OP might be able to locate one of what he is looking for since he now has foreknowlege of this sale.

What Roufuss stated about "chase" figures true (I was once co-owner of a comic book / dvd store).

I hoping that the OP might be at Target at store's open on the 13th.

If so, good luck.

thanks for the help with the figure and the support.
yes the linkarfin posted was of the figure in looking for.
i didnt know about these "chase figures" from what a target employee it is one indeed as it seems to be packed how roufus described.

arfin, well done.

again I appreciate everyones help

I didn't intend any negativity towards your post. I actually commend you for continually bringing helpful info and advice to these boards. You are to this point the only one who has given any kind of help to the OP.

No hurt taken Santurio.

I have realized early on here at CAG that you are a wise and esteemed member.

id suggest going to your local kb and toys r us stores to find it. back when i collected toys stores like those tend to have alot of items stocked up and they often do clearancee sales on those items depending if theyre not tat popular or they have too many of them. i remember lucking out and finding a first printing of the agoe of apocalypse alpha and omega with foil covers in a 5 dollar comic collectors sampler dealy. the thing came with like 5 or six comics total and all of them were crap except for those 2 which were worth maybe 3 or 4 times what i paid for all six.

i appreciate the heads up. i cant check tru or kb nearly as often as theyre out of my way. but ill try and swing by there on my way home from work.
im holding out hopes for that sale speedy mentioned.
fingers crossed.

yeah id usually go once a week on saturday that was the only time i could get out there since the nearest one to me was really far out there. i remember getting some good exosuad deals back then too. anywho good luck finding the toy and if those places dont work id check out kmart, walmart or target. i know from experience kids tend to hide toys in those kinds of places in hopes of picking them up later.

Yeah, give a heads up, tomorrow I will take a look at KB, TRU, and a couple other places after work, because whats better then getting the toy your little guys wants...... not paying tax on that toy. Thank you Delaware :)

Sorry, no luck, there is not a single ghost freak figure in DE, but I did leave my business card so if they see one, hopefully someone might call.

Well done dwhelan! :applause:

Well lets see if Day 2 does any better, KB said freight would be in tomorrow/today (5/11) so I will probably stop by on an extended lunch break to see what I can find.

P.S. no need to thank, while I do not have a son, I mentor and have cousin and unofficial neices and nephews that I would hope someone would help me with finding the little things to bring a smile. Plus it never hurt the karma.

Man this reminds me of Wonder Woman. Back when Justice League was on the air a couple walked by the Justice League toys and were looking for something. They said their little girl loves Wonder Woman and were looking for her figure. I sadly told them that they didn't make as many Wonder Woman toys as per say Superman because they figured it would sell less. Too bad it would be true if the company hadn't made it a collectible.
