Went to my local Best Buy and talked to some of my friends that worked there, and apparently Best Buy received way too many of these figures that were being given out for pre-orders to Pokemon Platinum, so they are pennying out the figures to try and get rid of them. It's not bad for one cent and if you don't want it, you could always give it to someone else. And it rung up as $9.99 at the register up front, but I just had the cashier talked to someone in the department and they pennied it out. This is going on at the Pleasant Hill, CA location. Good luck to everyone at their BB. :bouncy::bouncy::bouncy:

Anyone near think they could get me one of these?

I'd gladly pay for shipping costs and a bit in addition if you can get your hands on one for me. :)
 
Until the system is changed for it to ring up as $.01 or it has a penny price tag on it, there's no way anyone else will be able to do this.
 
I've never seen Best Buy penny out a preorder bonus before the game is released. They've always done it after the game gets released and I don't think this case will be any different.
 
Thinking about it, yesterday when I was at best buy they had a whole bunch of these staked up in a far off part of my game section. It was actually occupying the spot where the Watchmen movie packs were kept (I was trying to get a pack for a friend but of course sold out). I am pretty sure that you were lucky for them to penny it out but I might check later to see for myself.

Going today & seeing if I can buy a few. If not, 1 by reserve will suffice since Platinum is my most anticipated game this month, if not, this year along with Halo 3 ODST. (inb4someonebringsinlolynotrehash4.1lol)
 
Well I'm at least the 3rd person to report that these were out on the shelf. As with Nightfire's store, they were by the Watchmen packs on an endcap at my local store. I thought about trying to scan it or something, but didn't want to take it up to the register. While I don't really care about the fig, I'll probably end up reserving the game anyway.

Went to the Best Buy in Rego Park, NY. No more preorder cards but you can just walk to one of the registers in the front & buy a Giratina figure by itself...for $5 =\ To be honest a penny alone is too much, looks like some goddamn McDonalds Happy Meal toy.

Still getting the game though, just from Amazon.
 
target used to put a penny price tag on all preorder bonuses but you weren't supposed to sell them for a penny of course.

didn't stop my entire department from getting the zelda promo collections for .01 though :D
 
Hope I can get my hands on one for cheap. Almost got one at Target for $.01 then someone who knew what they were doing stopped them saying it was for preorders only.

Better than what they are doing at my best buy. When I got to BB today to look to see if they had any new in store deals I checked up on these they had a price tag of $9.99.
 
Just for shits and giggles I'll be checking out BB on the way home from work. If anything I need to get the Sonic Ultimate Collection for 360.

If Happy Meals all come with toys sculpted by Kagawa Masahiko (香川雅彦) of Kaiyodo, then I'd say "super size me plz".

He is the artist who sculpted the Giratina promo figure. And Kaiyodo has one of the best figure production line amongst the industry.
