I want to pick up Evolve, but almost everyone is saying the same thing (none of my friends are getting it)
yea I don't get where all the hate is coming from. I think everyone played a little of the beta and just don't understand how to play it or didn't play it long enough to get any of the unlocks......

Well at least it's not being over hyped like the order is. I got a feeling that's gonna be the biggest flop of the year. Everyone has such high expectations for it and when it doesn't deliver people are gonna be pretty upset.

Yea I was excited for Evolve, but I'm not really into online play, so I'm going to pass. As for The Order, I've been going back and forth between excited and worried about it. I think with it being a Playstation Exclusive, everyone is waiting for that Must Play PS4 game. Considering last Gen, most PS3 Exclusives were amazing. Bloodborne on the other hand is looking really good. I've never got into the Souls games, but I'm willing to give it a shot. Seems like other From Software titles, people either love them, or don't care for it at all.

I liked Evolve.  I hope they shorten the lobby wait times.  There was too much waiting on loadout/matchmaking.  Hopefully they follow up on the surveys they sent out to beta users.

I just see the order having the same problem watch dogs and destiny had. People are expecting way too much from it. It does look amazing graphically but I can see it being pretty short and remember hearing the gun play was very bland and boring.

Bloodborne does look pretty damn good. I like a challenge but I could never get into the dark souls game either.

I think evolve is going to be fun but titanfall taught me an important thing. Never spend $60 or $50(gcu) on a mp only game.

It has single player, in the beta it was the same thing but with bots. Not sure if the full game will wrap a story in between the levels or not (prob not). I get what you are saying but titanfall got boring fast because the experience in game modes and maps didn't change much and it was very easy to get burned out on them. Being multiplayer player only they should've offered more maps and modes.

1886 reminds me a lot of dishonored, not a bad game but nothing you will really remember a year later ala TLOU or Mass Effect

still i got a CE copy from the bby glitch so i'll be happy, only thing that may suck is trading it in if there is no regular case, only steelbook (I don't like to trade in just discs, makes me feel bad for the person who buys it)

Skipping Evolve. I don't have a core group to play with, and that frustrates me, because no one has any mics or anything..... Argh.

Question about GCU. I have three accounts with the same phone number and past couple times I've had trouble getting the employees to find/use the account with GCU. I just ask them to do it again and then the one with GCU pops up.

I want to change the email (says you can update email on the site) on the account with GCU, this won't null GCU right? It should be linked to the phone number/account # correct?

Then I'm gonna change the phone numbers on the other accounts (it's other family members all using the house #) and hopefully this will stop that from happening.

I have 2 GCU accounts. I accidentally updated my 2nd accounts email to my first ones email in store once. So I changed it back online when I got home. No problems.
Definitely change the phone #s as that's how they look the accounts up in store. Or you can print out the member account card(barcode) associated to each card and use those in store instead.

Anyone who doesn't have a core group to play with in evolve can just play as the monster. It'll be like a single player game with very smart(hopefully) AI :)

thanks!

I was trading in dying light earlier, I first gave him the email of the account with gcu and then he asked for the phone number and he only saw one of the accounts without gcu. I asked if giving him the account # would link the GCU but he said he could only look up accounts based on phone numbers/email address when doing a trade in. (He did seem new and I never seen him before)

Usually I give them my phone number and then the name associated with the account and it comes up fine, but lately they don't see that name associated with the account. I ask them to do it again and then it comes up. Hopefully changing the phone numbers on the other accounts will make the account with GCU appear the first time and I want to update the email as well.

Yea should be able to until around 10pm tomorrow.

Edit: think I might just get evolve and if i really don't like it I'll trade it back in
You think it would have a base value of $40 in the first week and get $44 for it with gcu? I'm thinking about getting it just for the $10 cert and maybe sell it

I might do that too. Get the preorder DLC and such and just trade it in and pick it back up down the road when it drops in price.

i'd guess the evolve base will be $35 and may not even go into the system until this weekend
with dying light dropping to 30 it might even be closer to 30. Granted dying light has been out for 2 weeks now but with that buy 2 get one pre owned it seems like everything dropped.

I'm not planing on getting rid of evolve, loved the beta, love l4d and I really feel there will be a ton of replay value and I really don't get why everyone's hating on evolve. To each his own but at least with the people on this page talking about getting it (even if it's just for the cert) will help out sale numbers.

I caved and pre-ordered Evolve after reading some reviews and finding out some of my friends were getting it after all. If I dont like it I can always trade it in for most of my credit back.

I'm planning on using a $20 cert on the order 1886 ce and another $20 cert on bloodborne ce. Now I'm thinking of pre ordering evolve to get the $10 cert and hoping that it gets a base value of $40. What's the best way to save money? Stack the certs on one game or spread them around? If spreading then around is better, I'll probably use a $10 cert on evolve but I plan on trading it in within a week or so

I guess I won't really lose anything if I'm gonna buy another game like the handsome collection. $50.88 with gcu and tax - 10cert = $40.88 If the evolve trade value is $40 then I'm good

I don't understand. Do you actually want to play Evolve? If not, why are you considering this?

since Evolve is a MP only game that has had a lot of hype die down on it, I really think its a big gamble assuming it will have a $40 TIV. I think $30-35 is more likely, so something to keep in mind when doing any trade strats. Best Buy has also been a bit awful at loading new games into the trade database, Dying Light PS4 took like 4 days to get in and immediately dropped from $39 to $30 within a week. Evolve also doesn't have a guaranteed TIV at Gamestop and Best Buy usually follows their lead.

If you are gonna play the game then I'd say get it, $38 ($48 - $10rz bonus) + tax is a great deal, but if you have no intentions of playing it at all then not really sure. Maybe you could ebay the preorder bonus for a few bucks, which might make it worth it, but I don't know what the preorder bonus is or how you get it or if there is even one.

There actually is single player for Evolve: https://www.google.com/search?q=single+player+for+evolve&oq=single+player+for+evolve&aqs=chrome..69i64j69i60l4j69i65.1759j0j4&sourceid=chrome&es_sm=93&ie=UTF-8

Interesting. You think it will be 30-35 because it's not that hyped up or does best buy usually give the new games a base value of 30+? I think I'll keep it sealed for a while until I see it on their site. Thanks for the input

this is the first i have heard about this promotion. from best buy's evolve page:

Receive this special season pass when you buy theEvolve game for Xbox One.

That's some dangerous verbiage on Best Buy's part. The Season Pass will be $5 cheaper ($24.99 instead of $29.99) when you buy it with the game this week, so i wouldn't expect to get it for free like that text seems to suggest.

The Most Acclaimed Game Shipping in 2015 - Winner of over 65 awards, Evolve is the only title ever to win both official "Best of Show" honors at E3 and Gamescom (plus many others)
4V1 - Team up with friends to hunt a powerful beast or go it alone as the evolving Monster and show your friends who's boss.
Dynamic Campaign - Join the hunt to save the colony or be the Monsters that destroy it in Evacuation. Combine multiple mission types, maps and campaign effects for 800,000+ possible paths for ultimate replayability where no two hunts are ever the same.
Offline Play - Experience the thrill of the hunt offline. Yes, really. Every feature in Evolve can be played either online or offline solo.
Be a One Man Team of Four - Hot Swap between all four Hunters instantly during the heat of a battle to command the squad strategically while playing solo.
Pre-order for $15 in Bonus Content - Get Behemoth, the fourth monster, in the Monster Expansion Pack & a new monster skin for Goliath free with pre-order!
Hunting Season Pass - 4 new playable Hunters and 3 Monster skins. A 16% savings at $24.99. Monster skins will never be available for sale. Only with the purchase of the season pass.
I don't think they intend to give it away with the purchase of the game. Must be a mistake.

Still debating on purchasing this, I don't think the 4 playable characters are available day one and not sure if I can get it added to my in store pick up order.

15 Dollars? for a monster and skin?! What are they charging 10 a monster and 5 a skin?

I'm not 100% , but I'd be shocked if evolve doesn't hit $40+bonus to start with. it has multiplayer and a long progression system of unlocks, and it's getting decent to good+ reviews. to be clear, it will be on sale in a few months for the same reasons, but it's not like it has a quick campaign that people can flip it back after beating. if you like the game, you'll keep it for awhile. which will keep TIV up. my .02. I'm keeping my pre-order b/c the free monster unlock, and it seems like the type of game that you want to be playing on release, or you'll get left behind. i'd rather level up with all the other noobs for a few weeks and decide whether to keep it or not, than buy it on sale in 3 months and go up against the small player base that's really really good at the game..

Naturally I wait until the last second and decide I want Evolve only for Best Buy's system to not let me confirm checkout when I try to purchase it. Talk about a bummer, but I guess you snooze you lose.

(Edit) Must have been an issue with their desktop site. Managed to checkout on the mobile app.

Haha I preordered evolve last minute too at 11pm PST, does anyone know what the cut off time for preorders online is? My purchase date reflected as 2/10 though it was still 2/9 my time. I think something like this happened when I switched my Titanfall preorder last minute from 360 to PC never did get my $10 but at that time I didn't think PC games qualified so I didn't argue it. Would be a pain if I had to call in to get the preorder bonus and credit resolved.

Pretty sure Best Buy goes by CST.

If the deadline is 12AM midnight, 11PM PST wouldn't qualify because that actually be 1AM CST.  Your time zone is irrelevant to the extent that you adhere to the midnight preorder deadline (CST).

What's weird is that after I preordered I went to check the BB website and they still had the promotional and preorder banners up. We'll see tomorrow.

$39 base for both systems
