It was an item added to your cart with the game. I'm guessing you ordered while they were in the process of removing it from the site.


Hopefully with it being removed it isn't a issue with the Steelbook or something along the lines of what happened with Wolfenstein last year.

in north america, the only way to get a steelbook is to buy the collectors edition. aside from bestbuy being the only retailer that offers it as preorder bonus for the standard game. it is a bestbuy exclusive. plus, it is a different steelbook

As many of you have now noticed, the SteelBook has been removed as a bonus when pre-ordering The Witcher 3. Congrats to those who secured one prior to this change and my sincerest apologies for those who missed out, myself included. Yes. I just apologized to myself.

The SteelBook we previously had listed was exclusive to Best Buy and all pre-orders prior to its removal will still receive the SteelBook, so no worries there. We are aware that there is still reference to the SteelBook on the individual product pages and I’m pretty confident this should be removed soon.

Once again, we really appreciate everyone’s understanding here and please let us know if you have any further questions or concerns!

Mad Max actually does look pretty good, but I have a bad feeling the game is gonna be like 8-10 hours long. Holding off on a pre-order for that one til more details come out.

 
a random update on my MK:X collectors edition update. From the original release date after waiting 90 minutes and not getting my pre-order in store I still have not even gotten it shipped yet. I've talked to CS about 6 times and they still are giving me the we cant do anything that its been preparing for shipping for 10 days. Worst pre-order I have had ever and this is my first one from best buy in a few years. Avoid store 142 and do not order two games at once. This is the reason I can't get my game.

I still don't understand why they're making this difficult for you. I have preordered 3 or 4 games in a single transaction (in-store) and picked up each one individually when they came out. No problems at all. This was back in Sept or October when there were several Xbox One games i was looking forward to. GTA 5, Advanced Warfare, Halo Master Chief Collection...

I keep getting emails about my cart.  Annoying.  So I looked, and I had Witcher sitting in it.  Apparently I can still get the steelbook.  It's listed in my cart as a gift with purchase.... for 59.99.   What a deal!

That great that having multiple games on one order worked out for you, it has been a nightmare for me. They told me they wanted to give me $50 GC for this issue but I just keep on telling them to keep the $50 and put it towards overnight or 2 day shipping but they say they can't. I have no idea why if the item has been preparing to ship for the last 10 days. This morning they told me they are having a hard time trying to locate a CE now. I just want to play the game, I just finished project X Zone and need a new game to play.I really like the GCU pricing but If I would have paid Amazon like I normally do I would be really far into the game by now.

Considering I have also had orders with different release dates work fine this sounds more like they lost yours or ran out.
 
Damn it I was planning on pre ordering another copy of witcher 3 but online to secure myself a steelbook. Guess I'll just go there early and where the hell is my $10 cert from MKX? I usually get em within 10 days.

the steelbook has been on the promotion page for like 4-5 months now, so it actually took a long while for them to remove it. My only worry is for my friend who I finally convinced to get GCU (idk why it is so hard to understand for people who regularly buy games. HE preordered in-store a couple weeks ago while they still had the bonus showing online, but he was also buying GCU in the same day, so 1. I hope the best buy people did the order right for him to get his discount and $10 GC 2. I hope they have some kind of order by this date and you're guaranteed a steelbook notice to their employees handling the pre-orders. 3.it might make it easier if they do a midnight launch, which I'm hoping for.

10 days? Dayum thats fast... I have never got one before the 15th day which is exactly how long they tell you it takes.

 
So I pre ordered the witcher 3 in store yesterday, find out here that they are not giving out the steelbook? It was listed on the dam product page with preorder. Canceling that shit.

 
If you guys are still planning on getting The Witcher 3 near its release, then it wouldn't really make sense to cancel your preorder. You'll still get a $10 GC which is still a better offer than any other bonus, not to mention that's on top of your 20% discount. If you're not getting it near release than ignore this statement.

Yea I know it was up for a while. I got my order in last week before it got taken off but since it was up for so long I figured everyone who wanted it got an order in already. I personally don't care about the steel for this one.
 
I recently picked up some cheap PSN credit, and had to make a purchase to add one to my account(I was over the limit allowed in the wallet. So I picked up The Witcher 3 Season Pass. For $25, it seems like it's gonna have a bunch of content. Now I need to find a few more things to purchase. I current have $123 in PSN Wallet, and still have two $50 cards to add.
 
I got a $20 cerf to burn, wanted to save it and get a game cheap but now I think I'm going to just get witcher 3 with it, after all I'll get another $10 cerf for preordering it

Was also thinking about god of war 3 remaster,idk....

When you factor in the $10 rewards cert for Witcher, you would essentially be paying about $6 more for a brand new game versus a remake of a game that came out a few years ago. Also, i'll bet the retail value and trade value of Witcher will hold up much longer than GOW3.

I always wonder how these games sell so well, when a new COD game is announced everyone always bitches about it, EVERYONE lol, if everyone is bitching about it then who buys these games? something doesn't add up

Casuals. The same reason why sports games also sell well. A lot of people don't give a shit about games but like to play the easy pick up and play ones.
 
I'm excited for Blops 3, if only for the return of my favorite mode, zombies which has been gone since Blops 2.  Exo survival and extinction just weren't the same. Advanced Warfare as a whole was pretty good but Ghosts was straight up bad.

It's funny because both games have the same problem: relying on looking good instead of being fun to play.

Also, to clarify: I've played every GOW as they've come out, and enjoyed them well enough, though they definitely were not as good as a DMC 3 or a Ninja Gaiden 1. The issue is that they rely so much on pure spectacle, which quickly loses its luster. I got the HD collection for PS3 and found them to be unbearably boring when the sight of two big horses was no longer mindblowing. 3 would maybe fare better, but I recall even at the time thinking it was kind of a slog.

It's okay, man, don't be afraid to make your own opinions. You also don't have to discount other people's opinions just because it doesn't line up with the metacritic rating. I was mostly joking anyway, don't take it so seriously.
