Uhhh... I'm hoping a lot of stuff is announced at E3 for this year because otherwise it's looking pretty barren past September, at least for big retail releases. Battlefront is just this year's Battlefield (because nobody cares about Hardline, including EA, apparently) and Battleborn is a Gearbox MOBA, and none of that appeals to me.

Like, it sure would be nice if Fallout 4 would come out this year! It probably won't, but it would be nice! Maybe a date on Scalebound, or Crackdown? Anything?
Tomb raider, halo 5, cod (eww), just cause 3, forza 6 (minor and after 5 sucked i'm not bothering with non horizon forzas anymore)

Oh yeah, I forgot about Tom Radar. I kinda doubt JC3 will come out this year, though. And I'm with you on Forza. Horizon or nothin', son!

It's just that a lot of those are annualized franchises (COD, Forza, Battlefield/Front) or something where I'm looong past the point of caring (Halo).

I hunger for new/revived IPs. I CRAVE IT! I am... SINISTAR! RUN! RUN! RUN!

(also maybe the Battletoads reboot will be good against all odds)

I remember reading Avalanche said Just Cause 3 will release this holiday. Of coarse it could get pushed to Q1 2016, I'm expecting new info and a release date at E3.

Personally there's plenty coming out for me to always have something to play. I'll be lucky if I finish The Witcher and Batman before MGS5 and MadMax release in September. And I'm sure E3 will have a few surprise game announcements releasing this Fall. Sony currently doesn't have any exclusives lined up for the Holiday, so I'd bet they have something. Unless they plan on No Mans Sky being that game.

Yea I guess I'm looking at it from my point of view where I'm just getting even my PS4 backlog under control. But I really do like time to play each game. If only they would coordinate and have a steady stream of games throughout the year instead of all competing for the same release window.

Yeah I was initially def getting halo, then I figured I'd buy it, beat the story then trade in for a profit/break even but now I honestly don't care at all about halo. They even further ruined the combat based on what I played of the beta. Plus the story has declined in quality each year for me.

I think the same studio is making mad max and just cause 3, so I think they should hold jc3 back to early next year to work on it more. Even if it's different people I'm sure the quality would be slightly worse if it releases this year

no regrets

The whole holiday rush and long periods of drought are so stupid. I get their thinking of having shopping seasons to aim for, but at the same time, if they put out a game in a month with almost nothing else out, surely it would work out pretty well?

They're two teams of the same developer making Mad Max/JC3 in parallel, but yes, that's my thinking as well. It also just seems too soon from announcement to release if JC3 does come out this year. Wouldn't surprise me if the bring in some of the Mad Max team to help polish up JC3 before they put it out.

As for Halo, ever since the ending of 2 I've found it hard to give a shit about any Halo. I did like ODST, though.

Alright put in my pre orders for Battlefront (regular for now in hopes we hear about a CE soon) and Halo 5 LE (still debating on going digital with this one).  That leaves for Battleborn, Tomb Raider, GH Live, Blops 3, AC Syndicate, and maybe R6 Siege for me to pre order for the year.

So, how does preordering from bestbuy.com and pickup in store work?  They want payment info, so will they keep temp charging me each month?  How do you get the game from the store, do you need to bring it to them or just go to checkout?  Is it easier to preorder in the store?  I'm a little confused on how this works with best but, I'm used to gamestop and amazon.

Any info here or in pm is appreciated, thanks!

If you pay with a debit/credit card you will have temp charges every once in a while until release date. If you use PayPal you are charged immediately. If you do store pick up you go to the online order desk and they should have the game there with a sticker with your name on it. If you use a debit or credit card they will ask to see it but if you use PayPal or gift cards they just need your ID.

Is it a big pain to change payment methods on a store pickup preorder? I have the Witcher 3 CE for PS4 preordered and used my card but Ive since gotten BB credit. Can I change payment methods without doing a return rebuy and losing the $10 cert?

I noticed that when you click on RS Siege on their site it doesn't list the gold ediiton.  Does anyone know if things like this have happened before where they don't include gold editions?  Halo 5 has all the editions listed when clicking on that.

Also, if you preorder online for store pickup, you can get it on release day, right?

Edit: Navigating to the gold eiditon page it does list the $10 cert, they also state you can pick up on release day so nevermind.

I feel like this probably has been asked here before but...

Do you need to play the previous Witcher games to understand the story?

According to the Gamespot review, it isn't necessary. The beginning of the game kinda sums it up and shows you the key decisions from the past games. Look up the review on youtube.

On release day, the game will be in the Online pickup/Customer service area. If you preorder online it's a rolling charge, meaning they hold at time of order, in a few days the hold will come off. They might hold those funds a few times before the game releases. I personally hate this. Normally I either use Giftcards, MyBB CreditCard, and I've used Paypal once. All of those take the payment at time of order. Also shipping has been pretty good with preorder at Bb lately.

Instore preorders only require $5 down and you pay the rest at release.

Personally I use online because I don't have a local BB, the closest one is about 45 minutes one way.

Edit: sorry for the late response. I typed that before work and after I came home the page never refreshed. Didn't realize it was already answered.

Any word on a midnight launch for Witcher yet?
not likely from the mods

http://forums.bestbu...p/881424/page/7

Thanks for pre-ordering The Witcher 3 from Best Buy! Everything I've heard about this game suggests it will be a great addition to any gaming library.

At this time we don't have any midnight releases announced for the remainder of 2015, but I do anticipate this will change with some of the big titles coming out. To stay in the know, keep an eye on our Gaming Events Page on BestBuy.com. This page also has information on in-store demos and developer chats, such as tonight's Splatoon hangout.

Ok, thanks. At least I won't have to go at midnight to try to get a steelbook.
you guys who regularly want to pick up your games at midnight releases, must lived around safe upscale suburban neighborhoods. i would never venture out at midnight around my neighborhoods, or where my bestbuy is

I was hoping for a midnight release for the Witcher, but I guess I'll just get to the store early that morning. I don't want to give them a chance to be incompetent and give away all the steelbooks to the people that either one didn't even preorder or didn't do so in time.

All the ones near me are in decently nice neighborhoods.

Yup. The worst we get around the suburbs here is drug possession and shoplifting at the mall.

Hmm i did an instore order but after the steel books, i wonder if i can get there early and get one lol
Each store is supposed to have two to three extra but it's up to the manager what they do with them (hand them out or hold them for damaged ones or customer complaints)

Anybody's Witcher3 ship yet?
my steelbook shipped, by itself. i was really hoping they would ship the game and book together so it would be in a box, i assume its in a bubble mailer and EVERY bubble mailer i get from best buy has tire marks on it. im not even kidding.

I've noticed that too recently. There is also really fine, black dust that gets all over my hands when I open the bubble mailers. It literally looks like pencil graphite. I wonder if it is on the BB warehouse end or on the UPS/USPS end that this is happening?

It's UPS. I'm not sure if it is metal shavings from excessive use of containers or if they are using it as a lubricant. Been like that for decades though.
