I am getting the "due to high demand...." message also when I try to pre-order TW3, if I drive to the store, I would still be able to pre-order for pick-up?

I believe so, you could call and find out for sure. Seems to be a issue with almost every release. If you try to preorder online the day before release, for store pick up.

If anyone is wondering, the game shipped Friday and the Steelbook shipped an hour ago for me. Both will be delivered tomorrow. I also have the guide from Amazon coming tomorrow. Excited for the guide and the bonus hardcover book with it.

No as enuf (we miss you) has said before you have to have a pre-order online or in-store to get the points. You have 7 days to buy the game to get the points BUT you have to have a pre-order before release day.

 
Don't think UPS is delivering Witcher today after all. Tracking says today - but, uh, it is the end of the day. And no Geralt in sight. Tomorrow, then. :)
 
Mine shipped today to be delivered tomorrow.  They're shipping the game and steelbook in 2 separate packages though.  Now I'm worried that the SB will arrive dented.

 
Question, if I "pre-ordered" for shipping right now, I would still technically qualify right?

Edit: Witcher, that is.

I just can't wait for that slipcover, soundtrack and hopefully a steelbook too. I haven't fully paid off my copy of the witcher 3 yet so if they give out those steelbooks to someone else, I'd be pissed
 
i've been trying to preorder witcher 3 on XB1 for the last few mins and getting a 'item out of stock due to high demand' when submitting order...

wtf

 
Last minute decided I'm getting the Witcher. I preordered for shipping, and it's somehow not getting here until Thursday. Not three days from today Thursday, but 10 days from today Thursday. Is this normal? If so, I might as well just cancel and go pick it up in store.

Well you ordering the night before so it prob wouldn't ship until tomorrow.. id bet it would arrive before the 28th though..

ive been getting an error when trying in store pickup

This is normal for standard shipping. If you have it in stock near you Id pick that up there.

Quite frankly im just experienced enough to know that no high profile game ever sells out...im sure there will be ton of copies in the store tomorrow for walkins but I'm trying to get a preorder in for the RZ certs...

its my own fault for waiting so long..

Thanks for the speedy responses, guys. I just went to cancel, and it's already processing, so it can't be canceled. I'm sure it'll get here sooner than that 10 day estimate now.

 
Just buy it online via snail mail, pick up a copy in store tomorrow, then return the snail mail copy whenever it arrives with your in store receipt. $10 bonus, but you get it tomorrow.

I ended up ordering for shipment for the same reason too. Won't let me cancel either. I hope that means its shipping real soon.

 
I gave up trying to pre-order the ps4 version of Witcher for in store pickup.

Kept saying it was sold out.

Will pickup locally tomorrow somewhere and wait for it to come in the mail and return the mail copy.

yea I might do that but prob wouldn't get a real chance until the weekend anyway. Guess I'll see how I'm feeling after work.

 
I preordered Witcher around 5pm. Both locations near me said sold out, so I ordered it to ship instead.

As soon as I placed my order I went to my order status and switched it to instore pick up. Got my ready for pick up a few minutes later.

The embargo for Witcher was up like a week ago so this argument isn't really relevant in this situation.

Can't wait to pick up my steelbook and game in the morning though. Glad I did it online so my steelbook was confirmed before hand.

So I recently switched my rewards points option to point banking, does anyone know if my gc for the Witcher 3 will be issued anyways, or will they credit my point bank with 500 points?
 
Also try to go early. There's no telling how your BB will handle the situation. In the past, I've heard of preorder bonuses giving to people just buying the game. Then there's not enough for all the preorders to get one. The only way to really make sure you get one, was to have it shipped. But then you risk it arriving damaged. The fact that the Steelbook actually has it's own SKU, might work out to someone advantage. I remember the can holder for SunsetOverdrive and the Map Book for Halo Collection were both preorder bonuses, but they were on sale instore.
 
Got a voice mail this morning from my local Best Buy regarding my preorder with them. They have the game, but the steel books aren't in yet, apparently. This is at the Best Buy in Columbia, MO, and I preordered the game back in January. I kind want to complain to them.
